Newtown -With 5:26 left in the second period of the Pennridge-Council Rock South game, the skies around Newtown put on a show of lightening and thunder. Moments later, both players and spectators exited the stadium in a downpour.
Rock South had the ball on the Ram 24-yard line – fourth and six – at the time of the delay. About an hour later, the game was suspended and will be resume at that point on Monday at 7:30 pm.
Not only did the Golden Hawks have the ball, CR South also had a 7-0 lead thanks to a four-yard first period touchdown run by Mark Damirgian. Ben Solis added the extra point for the Hawks.
The Hatboro-Horsham contest at Council Rock North – which was scheduled for Thursday night at 7 pm - was also postponed until Monday at 4 pm.
