#3 Plymouth Whitemarsh 67, Neshaminy 61

The Colonials rebounded from their setback at the hands of Council Rock North in Tuesday’s district semifinal game to down the Redskins by six in the third place game played on PW’s home court.
PW led 17-14 at the end of one quarter and extended that lead to 31-22 by halftime. The Redskins outscored the Colonials 22-17 in the third quarter to make it a 48-44 game heading into the final quarter. Sam Pygatt scored eight of his 21 points in a fourth quarter that saw the Colonials edge the Redskins 19-17.
Jaylen Bond, who fouled out in the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s semifinal, exploded for 25 points and eight rebounds. He scored 12 of those points in the third quarter. Stephon Baker also finished in double figures for PW with 12 points.
Ryan Arcidiacono led all scorers with 26 points while Tyler Katz added 10 points.
While the Redskins will face the third place team from District 11 in the opening round of states, the Colonials will face the fifth place team from District Three.
#7 Norristown 48, #9 Bensalem 34
The Owls took a 28-27 lead into the fourth quarter only to watch the Eagles go on a 21-6 fourth-quarter tear to earn the win in Friday night’s seventh and eighth place game at Norristown High School.
Rasheeed Johnson scored eight of his team-high 11 points in the fourth quarter. Maleek Williams added nine points and Jahquan Hargrove, eighth points to a balanced Norristown attack.
Leo Vincent led the Owls with 12 points, which included a pair of treys.
Norristown will face the District 11 champion in the opening round of the state tournament while Bensalem will face the champion from District 12.
#11 Penn Wood 47, #8 North Penn 27
The Knights hung tough for one half and trailed by just a 16-14 count at halftime of Friday night’s playback game at Council Rock South, but Penn Wood outscored North Penn 19-5 in the pivotal third quarter to seize control of the game and earn the ninth and final state playoff berth.
Penn Wood was led by the 13-point effort of Aaron Brown while Darian Barnes added 12 points.
Wes Brooks led the Knights with 11 points while Dexter Shy added 10. Connor Silhanek scored six points in a contest that saw just three players contribute scoring for the Knights. North Penn closed out its season with a 21-6 record.
