Upper Dublin senior Kristen Fuery inked her named on a letter of intent to accept a basketball scholarship to Holy Cross on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Reasons for choosing Holy Cross: “Holy Cross offers the perfect combination of academics and athletics and the opportunity to compete at a consistently successful Division One program in the Patriot League. I love the coaching staff and was very impressed by the campus.”
Upper Dublin coach Vince Catanzaro says: “She’s just a very outgoing person. She’s always looking to get better. She’s never one that doesn’t work at her game. Even when she was younger, she was always in there doing something to get better. She always works very hard, and her parents are very dedicated.
“She’s going to go a long way. She’s a smart kid. I knew eventually she would go where better kids are because she’s so much above the other kids. This year what I like best is she’s being a better leader. She’s not afraid to take the big shot. Now she’s leading, and I’m loving every minute of it.”
Philadelphia Belles AAU coach Mike Flynn says: “The thing that stands out about Kristen is her leadership. She’s always been a shooter who wants the ball. Now she’s willing to step up to be a leader. Signing a scholarship in today’s economic climate is a long journey. To get a scholarship takes a cast of people and a dedication to take that long journey. Kristen is one of the success stories in this region.”
