Coach Jon Young says:
“I’ve been working with Allison for four years and been watching her play a ton of volleyball. I can definitively say that Allison is the most self-made player I have coached of the hundreds of kids I’ve worked with. She knows how to get where she wants to be regardless of the environment she’s in, which is a very, very mature perspective from a player. It’s something we don’t see that often. Her work ethic across the four years was amazing. We did butt heads sometimes, and that’s one thing I loved about her – she wasn’t afraid to say what she felt, what she thought, and it worked out really well. The proof in the pudding is that last year we had a phenomenal year – going to third round of districts was our goal, and I gave Allison the defense. We didn’t talk about it. She just ran with it and pretty much was our defense and kept us in system all year. For four years, she’s been solid for the varsity every year. The best thing about Allison was I just never had to worry about whether the performance was going to be there. She refused to not perform. “
