Wissahickon High School is pleased to announce the selection of Jonathan Faikish to lead the WHS Swim Team .jpg)
as head coach. Coach Faikish started his coaching career in 2001 at Lansdale Swim Team. He has been involved in swimming at every level from beginner swim lessons to USA Club swimming and everything in between. Most recently, he coached age group swimming at Nor-Gwyn Summer Club and North Penn Aquatic Club.
A North Penn High School alumnus, Coach Faikish was a district and state champ four years straight and swam at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. During his time at IUP, he specialized in butterfly and freestyle. During his college swimming career, he was a top 12 finisher each year. He competed in multiple events and was a part of several top six place-finishing relays. He has earned several All-American Honors during his swimming experience.
Coach Faikish brings one basic philosophy to any team he is a part of, “Every swimmer, every day!” He wants everyone to always remember his favorite quote when training as well, “Today I will do what you won’t, so tomorrow I can do what you can’t.” Jonathan feels that there is nothing better than seeing a swimmer overcoming something they truly thought they couldn’t and being a helping part of it.
