Despite adverse weather conditions, that forced the cancellation of the pole vault, the Council Rock South Men’s track team performed well at the Knights of Columbus Meet held at Holy Ghost Prep on Saturday April 11th, accumulating a large number of awards.
Dan Dreeman led the Golden Hawks, winning the 800m in 1:59.58. This time is currently twelfth in the state and qualifies Dreeman for District competition. The gusting winds wreaked havoc with the jumpers but John Cantwell persevered to take first place in the Triple Jump and second in the Long Jump. Sophomore Kevin Caporiccio captured second in the high jump and teammate Ian McIntyre placed third in the 100m dash.
In the 1600m run the duo of Sean Keefe and Steve Kandetzke placed second and third. Overall it was a fine effort for CR-South which brought only a small contingent of runners to this meet.
