Kisselback Signs With Holy Family

On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, senior Kimber Kisselback was recognized for signing a letter of intent to accept a soccer scholarship to Holy Family University. The recent Neshaminy grad has been approached about her interest in also playing lacrosse, and Kisselback has not ruled out the possibility of playing two sports at the collegiate level.

Kimber Kisselback – Holy Family University (Soccer)
Major: Secondary Math Education
Final list of colleges: Holy Family, West Chester, Temple
Reasons for choosing Holy Family: “It’s local, so my family can go to the games, and financially it worked out really well for me. Soccer also was a huge part in my decision.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate soccer? “I have wanted to play soccer in college my whole life. I went to a lot of college showcases, and I was constantly on college coaches’ cases – trying to get them to come see me play. I have been talking to coaches since my freshman year. I’ve always talked to a lot of coaches, and as it got closer, I talked to less and less coaches.
“The biggest thing was financially it worked out the best at Holy Family.”
Coach Rachel Clemens says: “I have known Kimber for many years – even outside of high school, and she’s played soccer at a high level for most of her career. Her level of play makes others around her better, and she certainly has acquired the skills, the knowledge, the work ethic and the attitude to play and be successful at the collegiate level.
“Kimber’s quickness and one-on-one attacking nature and her ability to find the back of the net make her a challenge to defend, and she creates many scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. She played for us up top at forward, but she certainly can play in the central midfield spot as well because she has great vision of the field.
“She’s a natural leader. She leads by example, and we’re going to miss her leadership at Neshaminy and hard work on the soccer field. Holy Family is going to be lucky to have her.”
