Millennium Administrators
Highlighting…SOL Girls’ Basketball Players

This recognition is sponsored by Millennium Administrators. Athletes are chosen based on nomination of coaches.

National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Taylor Deal – Senior at Abington High School

A senior captain, Deal provides positive leadership for a Ghost squad that is at the top of the National Conference standings. The four-year varsity veteran is a guard who contributes off the bench.
Note from the coach:
“Taylor is a special young lady,” coach Dan Marsh said. “She has been a four-year varsity player and has contributed to this program’s success in many different ways. She is a tremendous leader, not by yelling or screaming to motivate her teammates but by listening to them, making them laugh, and at the same time keeping them focused on the team goals. Taylor has always been a ‘we’ player and never a ‘me’ player. She will always do whatever is needed for the good of her teammates even if it means sacrificing her own individual goals. We had a younger player this year struggling a little bit in school, and Taylor said, ‘Let me talk to her.’ Taylor took her into my office and who knows what she said, but we could see the impact immediately. Whatever Taylor does in the future, there is no doubt she will be successful and the people around her will benefit by her aura and presence..”

National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Jessica Gerber  – Senior at Council Rock North High School

A two-year captain, Gerber is a four-year varsity starter at guard. A dangerous offensive weapon, she has earned SOL All-National Conference honors the last two seasons.
Note from the coach:
"I have coached high school basketball for 24 years,” coach Lou Palkovics said. “She is the hardest worker I have ever coached.  She does not miss an offseason workout, and she is the last player to leave the gym during the season. We are lucky to have her leadership.  She leads both by what she says and how she acts.  She also has two outstanding parents!”

National Conference Millennium Administrators Highlighted Player
Cara Barlow – Senior at Council Rock South High School
A two-year captain, Barlow – an honors student - is a three-year starter at guard for the Golden Hawks and is routinely assigned the task of stopping the opposing team’s top backcourt player.
Note from the coach:
“Cara is a very good defender and usually guards the top guard on the opposing team,” coach Monica Stolic said. “When I can get her to shoot, she’s a pretty good shooter.
“Cara is quiet, but she’s very mature for her age. In four years, I’ve never heard her complain. She’s a hard worker, she’s there every day, and she gives everything she has. I asked her to pick up her leadership this year, and I feel like she’s taken that challenge and is doing well with it.
“Last year, when we played Rock North, it was a tie game, and she went to the foul line and missed both foul shots. She was a 75-80 percent shooter. This year, almost the same thing happened, but she made her foul shots. She went 4-for-4 with 30 seconds left in the game. It was the same situation, and she’s definitely matured. I’m really proud of her.”
