The North Penn boys’ track & field team won the PIAA District 1 AAA Championship, while scoring 64 points! This was the 14th District Championship win in program history. The following are the medalists who made this win possible.
---4x400m relay: One of Pennsylvania’s best relays, North Penn’s bread and butter 4x400 Relay consists of Morgen Brown, Layton Holt, Musa Herzi, and Kyle Gordon, and they put the icing on the cake and brought home the championship.
---Justin Landis: He had a stellar weekend grabbing 1st in 3200m and 2nd in 1600m. Landis plays a crucial part in this teams’ success.
---Trip Campbell jumped 6’11” in high jump to win gold.
---Achillies Shui: Finished sixth in the 3200, after a stellar closing lap, putting everything on the line for his team.
---Jacob Garret: As only a sophomore, Garret beat the odds and grabbed third in the discus throw, which played a HUGE part in the team’s success.
---Musa Herzi & Kyle Gordon: Musa got 5th and Kyle finished 8th in the 800m race.
---Morgen Brown: 4th in 300mH, advanced to states as well.
---4x800m relay: The 4x800 relay of Kyle Gordon, Matt Connelly, Achilles Shui, and Musa Herzi, snuck away from CB East to certify themselves as District champs in this event. This same 4x8 won indoor states and was 5th at Championship of America.
The North Penn boys represented the SOL in prestigious fashion, capturing the district crown. The boys will head to states at Shippensburg this weekend, as they look to keep the momentum rolling.
