Pennsbury Swimmers Excel at Pirates Invitational

On Saturday, Jan. 4, the Pennsbury High School swimmers traveled to West Windsor-Plainsboro South High School to compete at the Pirates Invitational. The meet was set up with preliminary heats in the morning and the top 12 swimmers and top six relay teams in each event swimming again in the late afternoon.

 

On the boys’ side, the Falcons came out on top, beating West Windsor South (WWS) in the final standings. The girls’ team finished second to WWS. Pennsbury swimmers earned the MVP spots with Will Deitch sharing top honors for boys with Josh Huang (WWS), and Brooke Garretson claiming the spot for the girls. Deitch finished first in the 50 FR (22.2), and 100 FR (48.42), while Garretson won the 200 IM (2:07.70) and 100 FR (53.16). Other notable performances include: Dhanvi Shivadevuni (200 IM, 100 FL), Ryan Ward (500 FR, 100 BK), Tyler Babel (100 FL), Jacob Cohen (50 FR, 100 FR), Avery Stimmel (200 FR, 100 BR), Celia Dolan (50 FR), Reagan Ward (100 FL, 100 BK)
