1.    Rakeem Christmas – ANC – Junior Center/Forward
The Class of 2011’s Rakeem Christmas has had a long summer of outstanding performances at some of the most coveted basketball events. With the AAU basketball season drawing to a close, one of the nation’s best defensive players has garnered attention participating in the NBA Players Top 100 Camp, as well as the Amar’e Stoudemire and LeBron James Skill Academies. Before wrapping up his summer events next week at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game at Rucker Park, the rising junior and his family decided on the schools he plans on looking closely at for options of attendance in 2011. Christmas averaged 10.6 points, 7.32 rebounds, and 3.28 blocks last season. The 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, who just completed the 10th grade, will attend the Academy of the New Church in the fall.

2.    Dion Waiters – G- Life Center Academy (NJ)
Waiters began making waves when he made an oral commitment to Syracuse before playing a game in high school. After considering a professional career oversees next year, the South Philly guard signed with the Orangemen. After four schools in four years, Waiters seems to have found his way as he lead Life Center last year with 17 points and 8 rebounds per game.

3.    Tony Chennault –G- Neumann Goretti
Chennault is the leader of the backcourt who led his team to a district and city crown last season, while earning Class AAA first team accolades. Considered one of the best players in the state, Chennault averaged 16.2 points per game and considers anything less than a state crown a disappointment. He recently signed with Wake Forest after verbally committing his sophomore season.

4.    Tyrone Garland - PG - Bartram
This scoring machine averaged 28.5 points per game last year. Garland received first team Class AAAA All-State selection and looks to lead the Braves deep into the state tournament. Garland recently signed with Virginia Tech.

5.    Tyreek Duren – G- Neumann Goretti
Duren looks to play a bigger role on nationally rated Numan-Goretti after losing in the Class AAA state quarterfinals to Catholic league rival Carroll. The recent La Salle signee averaged 12.2 points per game last.

6.    Rakeem Brookins –PG- Roman
After leading the Catholic League in scoring as a junior last year with 19.8 points per game, Brookins will look to elevate his game with the departure of McDonald’s All-American Maalik Wayns. Brookins was named to first-team All-Catholic in the Red Division and recently signed with Tulane.

7.    C.J. Aiken – Senior C – Plymouth Whitemarsh
Aiken led the Colonials to a share of the Suburban One League American title and an appearance in the State Final Four. Aiken averaged 14.0 points per game for the 25-6 Colonials. Aiken was named third-team All-State.

8.    John Johnson – Junior G – Girard College
Often looked down upon because he plays for Class A Girard, Johnson led his squad to a state title last year after dropping 37 in the state semifinals and 30 in the final. Johnson recently signed with the University of Pittsburgh. Read about his commitment here.

9.    Juan’ya Green – G - Carroll
Green, a 6-3 guard for the Patriots, was first team All-Catholic and third team Class AAA selection last year as a sophomore. Averaged 14 points per game last year. He was a big name in middle school and will reach that superstar level this year again.

10.    Jaylen Bond – Junior F - Plymouth Whitemarsh
Bond helped the 25-6 Colonials to a share of the SOL American Conference title and a berth in the State Final Four. Jaylen was honored as a third-team all-league selection. Just a junior, Bond is already a highly sought-after recruit.

11.    Shaquille Duncan – C – Senior – Frankford
Might be ranked higher, but he needs to prove he can handle the spotlight this year. He is big, he is strong, and he is agile. Duncan will be the premier center in the Pub this season.

12.    DJ Irving – G - Carroll
Irving and the Patriots look to defend the Class AAA crown this year. Received first team Class AAA honors after averaging 15 points per game and garnered the MVP. Signed with Boston University.

13.    Cameron Ayers - G - GA
Ayers , the 6-4 guard, was the leader of the Patriots who won the Interact title last. The recent Bucknell signee earned first team Class AA All-State after averaging 13.2 points per game last year.

14.    George Harper – ANC

15.    Travis Robinson – Friends Central

16.    Tyree Johnson – Penn Wood
Johnson was the catalyst for the State Champion Penn Wood Patriots. While leading the Patriots (28-4) to a share of the Del Val championship and the state gold medal, Johnson averaged 12.6 points, 6.8 assists and 4.9 steals per game. Johnson, just a junior, was also honored at the Delaware County Player of the Year by the Delaware County Times.

17.    Gilbert Jones – ANC

18.    David Appolon – Prep Charter

19.    Aaron Brown – Penn Wood
Brown helped the Patriots win the 2009 AAAA State Title. Penn Wood also shared the Del Val League Championship and won the silver medal in District play. Aaron, who averaged 13.2 points per game, was selected third-team all state for his efforts.

20.    Daniel Stewart - F - Neumann Goretti
Newman will be depending on the athletic Stewart in order to make it through the rugged Catholic League and State AAA tournament. After averaging    points per game last year, Stewart was named to first team All Catholic in the Blue Division. Stewart has made a commitment to play for Rider next year.

21.    Mike Terry - G - North Cath.
As a junior last year, Terry averaged 13.7 points per game and was selected to first team All Catholic in the Red Division. Look for Terry to have a big year in North’s final year. Terry will be joining Travis Robinson (Friends’ Central) and Anthony Mayo (Roman) after all three signed with Boston College.

22.    Isaiah Baker – Episcopal Academy

23.    H.J. Gaskins – Friends Central

24.    Erik Copes – Imhotep Charter

25.    Scott Slade, Bonner
This 6’4 slashing guard is looking at Temple, La Salle, and St. Joseph's. He is one of the top players in the 2011 class, and could stand out on a weak Bonner team by exceeding expectations.

26.    Anthony Mayo, Roman Catholic
After a disappointing season last year, points per game and rebounds per game, look for the 6-8 Mayo to dominate down low. Mayo recently signed with Boston College.

27.    Dominic Morris, Friends Central
At 6’8, 230 pounds, Morris is a lot of man in the middle. This wide body does a great job in close to the rim. The combination of attributes that would make him an outstanding Mid Major power forward include, great hands and feet. Dominic is extremely agile for a young man of his size although he also would be considered earthbound.

28.    Jack O'Neil, Wissahickon
This smooth 6'6 swing/forward combo has all the intangibles to play at the next level. He can take it to the hole or knock down a couple of treys in a row. O'Neil transferred twice (once from Episcopal Academy) most recently from a broken-up North Catholic squad to Wissahickon. He should lead the Trojans in points this season and contend for Suburban-One first-team honors.

29.    Jamal Melvin, Bonner
Melvin and Francis make up one of the several talented backcourts in the Catholic League this year (Neumann, Carroll, Roman to name a few). Bonner will depend on Melvin in order to improve on what they considered a disappointing season last year (10-13). In his junior year, Melvin averaged 10 points per game last year and was named first team All Catholic in the Red Division.

30.    Devonte Newbill, Strawberry Mansion
A 6'4 shooting guard, Newbill is a strong and physical with a good feel for the game. He isn't an explosive athlete or great long-range shooter, but can play both guard positions, knows how to get to the rim, can handle and pass versus pressure, and makes good decisions with the ball. Still, this Mansion product will get mid-major looks.

31.    Deshon Minnis, Southern
The prototypical philly guard, Minnis has a filthy cross over and toughness to spare. Small in size, his nickname is "Biggie", which just goes to show how big his game really is. He can score in the paint, but needs to step up his defensive play if he wants serious D1 attention.

32.    Woody Redding, North Catholic
What Redding lacks in height (5-6), he makes up with speed and strength. With the departure of Rakeem Christmas (ANC) and Jack O’Neil (Wissahickon), Redding and Terry with will be the leaders for North. As a junior last year, Redding averaged 6.8 points and 5.4 assists per game last year and was named second team All Catholic in the Red Division.

33.    John Raymon, Council Rock North
The 6'4 Raymon's build should not fool you. Though he has a very thick body, Raymon excels shooting the ball from the perimeter and could develop into a nice face-up 4-man. He could make a living in pick-and-pop sets as well as a trailer on the break, and getting jumpers in the lane. Council Rock North could suprise some people this year.

34.    Tyree Smith, Gratz
After averaging over 13 ppg last season, Smith is considered to be one of the top returning Public League stars. If Gratz has any chance of getting back to it's glory days Smith will have to shoulder most of the load.

35.    Jack Roberts, Strath Haven
His rebounding and shot-blocking skills are well advanced. His scoring touch is not there yet, but at 6-7, it is on the way. As a senior Roberts could be a dominant force on the inside if he applies his size and skills.

36.    Jamir Hanner, South Phil.
One of the most impressive players in the league, Hanner is an athlete, though he does need to bulk up. Jamir is a good dunker and has a far more polished game than some of the other city "bigs". Hanner's only knock is his height (about 6'7), which doesn't translate to a true big man at the next level.

37.    Ameen Tanksley, Imhotep

38.    Maurice Nelson, Chester

39.    Omari Grier, Episcopal, Jr

40.    Jabril Trawick, Abington Friends

41.    Tom Noonan, Penn Charter
The 6-7, 205-pound senior combo forward is headed to Princeton.

42.    Cameron Gunter, Ridley

43.    Torrell Candelaria, Girard

44.    John Moran, Malvern Prep

45.    Dante Williams, Washington

46.    Markeith Mont – World Communications Charter (Phila) – Junior
Points Per Game    19.2
Assists Per Game    3.3
Blocks Per Game    2.0
Rebounds Per Game    13.1
Steals Per Game    2.1
Steals    44

47.    Rob Mansell, Cheltenham

48.   Joey Gripper, Abington Friends

49.    Brandyn Wims, Cardinal Dougherty
Another undersized guard (5-8), Wims finds ways to score. As a junior last season, Wims led Dougherty in scoring with 17.8 points per game and was named first team All Catholic in the Red Division. Look for an even bigger year in the final chapter of Dougherty’s storied program as the school is expected to close it doors next year.

50.    Devon Coleman, Friends Central
A potential Big East baller has garnered interest from: La Salle (offer), Drexel (offer), Delaware (offer), Temple (offer), Villanova and Florida State are the schools that Coleman, a sturdy 6’2 guard, says are currently on his trail. It is at another Big East school, Connecticut, where he wants to end up though. Coleman, who runs with Team Phenom on the AAU circuit, is a player who already has a good reputation in the City of Brotherly, and it is starting to catch on elsewhere.

51.    Keefer Francis, Bonner, Senior
Francis led Bonner in scoring last year with 10.8 points per game. Francis received second team All-Catholic as a junior guard last season.

52.    Jerrod Johnson, FLC
Johnson is a solid 6’3 wing player. He uses his size and attacks off the dribble to get into the lane. Jarrod is a solid ball handler, but could actually improve in that area. He draws a lot of fouls on one drive and also hits a mid range jumper.

53.    Xavier Harris, North Catholic
This 6’5 PF is still growing. Harris did transfer out of North, and will be a D1 recruits down the road.

54.    Shaquille Shannon, Comm. Tech
A 6’1 guard, Shannon was a third-team all-league selection last year and had an outstanding summer. Sometimes the summer means more than the actual season. Hopefully, Shannon’s success will translate into wins for Comm. Tech.

55.    Antoine Bland, Gratz
He average just over 12 points per game last season, and is widely regarded as one of the premier returning player in the Public League (Division B). Bland is part of the youth movement willing Gratz back to its glory days.

56.    Malcolm Gilbert, ANC
The 6’11 Junior is a true Division 1 prospect. Gilbert would be ranked higher on this list, but wasn’t a big name in the summer, and still shows some coordination issues with his hands. However, he is a 7 footer and pure big man playing for one of the top teams in the state. Can you picture him and Christmas in the middle?

57.    Joe Nardi, St. Joe’s Prep, Senior
Nardi led the Prep with 13.5 points per game as a junior last year and was named first team All Catholic in the Red Division. The Prep will look for Nardi to elevate his game as the lone returning starter from last year’s team.

58.    Rondell White, West Chester Rustin, Senior
White is probably the best two-sport athlete in the state. A football star, he has a number of Division 1 programs calling. Just for kicks, White plays basketball, oh and did we mention he was MVP of the league last year as a junior. Rustin looks to continue its dominance this season with Rondell and his younger brother leading the charge.

59.    Aquil Younger, West
Younger might be the most underrated guard in this class, this summer in the Bob Gibbons TOC he dropped 30 points on 2011 Indiana commit Matt Carlino. Younger is almost impossible to keep in front but needs to work on his jump shot.

60.    Fran Dougherty, Archbishop Wood, Senior
At 6-7, the powerful Dougherty will look to establish position down low. Dougherty led Wood last year in scoring 14 ppg and rebounds while earning second team All-Catholic in the Blue Division.

61.    Jamil Brown, Upper Dublin, Senior
The 6’3 Guard/Swing has been a mainstay on an Upper Dublin squad looking to make a run at a possible league title. It will be difficult with PW and Wissahickon as the front-runners, but Brown has shown he can light up the scoreboard at any given time ever since he was a freshman.

62.    Mustafa Jones, Neumann Goretti, Junior
Jones numbers are not a true representation of what he is capable of. On the other hand, that can be a challenge playing along side three other D-I signees. Jones is a threat from outside and can take it inside.

63.    Lamon Church, Malvern Prep
The 6’3 guard established himself as a prime-time player last year in the Inter-Ac and should be a hands down First-team all-league selection this year. He is versatile and makes everyone around him better. Malvern could be the surprise team of the year.

64.    Lamin Fulton, Neumann Georetti
Often overshadowed, Fulton is that player who will sneak up on teams and knock down a couple treys, get to the charity stripe, and pick a pocket on defense. Fulton would be a star on almost every other team in the state. His time to shine might be this year.

65.    Isaac Robinson, Conwell Egan
Robinson led the Eagles last year in points per game as a junior last year and earned second team All Catholic in the Blue Division. If CE has any chance at competing, Robinson will have to rally his teammates.

66.   Ky Howard, Shipley
A 6'3 impressive talent at the guard position, Howard really stood out this summer. Playing in elite tournaments Howard not only held his own, but put his name in the mix for D1 looks.

67.    Rashawn Cunningham, Life Center
The 5’9 point guard is a floor general and team leader in assists. Cunningham impressed scouts with his unselfish play this summer in tournaments like Donofrio. When you have Dion Waiters on the wing it makes life easy.

68.   Soutiri Sapnas, Marple Newtown
A scoring, jumpshooting machine who is on his way to becoming his school’s all-time scoring champ, Sapnas is the focus of every team’s gameplan.

69.    Maurice Watson, Boy’s Latin
Quick, exciting, and passionate: Watson is the epitome of a “Philly Guard”. His stats may not blow you out of the water, but he is a crunch time performer and will always make things interesting. Unpredictable, this guard can light it up or drop dimes all day.

70.    Shawn Oakman, Penn Wood
Oakman started at center on Penn Wood's 2008 Class AAAA state championship basketball team and carries a 3.0-plus grade point average. Mormando said Oakman is being recruited by several Big Ten schools, including Penn State and Michigan for football.

71.    Jerrell Wright, Dobbins
This 6’5 swing guard/forward hybrid has been in all the prestigious tournaments and plays an elite summer schedule. Dobbins has struggled as of late but Wright has put his name on the national scene in a big way. He is getting some Big East and Atlantic Ten looks. Should be an all-city type of player this year.

72.    Skylar Scrivano, CB East
A 6’9 true power forward that has very lively legs and does a great job of contesting shots. He has very quick leaping ability and decent timing, which allows him to swat shots with ease, especially as a weak side, help shot blocker, though he can block shots while on ball as well. Scrivano is an elite Suburban One big man and should be another first-team selection this season.

73.    Todd Cramer, CHA
For the most part, Cramer out shined his more highly touted teammate, senior Gary Lawrence last year en route to earning MVP honors in a number of tourneys. Todd is 6'4 and has good size and a nice build. He is an intense, smart player and is also appeared to be a team leader despite being a junior. He does a good job on the offensive glass, and although his free throw stroke isn't pretty, he does shoot well from the line. Look for him and Connaghan to lead the Blue Devils this season.

74.    A.J. Picard, Souderton, Senior
This slick shooting guard scored a game-high 26 points in the Indians’ 65-51 win over Upper Darby in the District One Class AAAA first round last year. He finished with four three-pointers, in what was a usual performance for A.J. Picard was a first-team Suburban One selection last year and will be on everyone’s radar during the upcoming season.

75.    AJ Jones, Haverford
A standout football player who also made our “Philly Football Top 100” list, Jones was a first-team Inter-Ac player last year in a very deep league. His athleticism is what sets him apart. Haverford might play the role of spoiler this year, and Jones will be the one setting the tone each game.

76.    Pat Connaghan, Chest. Hill, Junior
Connaghan was a second team all-league player last year, and looks to lead the Blue Devils to an Inter-Ac championship this year with Todd Cramer and Young Gun Luke Mulvaney.

77.    Moses Togbah, Octorara, Senior
He was a first-team all-league selection last year, and was dominant towards the end of the season. He averaged 15.8 points and was a captain as a junior. Togbah had an impressive summer and looks to finish up his senior campaign with a league championship.

78.    Matt Hankerson, Prep Charter, Senior
I see him contributing hugely for the team that lost quite a few players. He is the lone senior and I see good numbers from him, if he sticks to the game he has. Quick for his size and very good when under control. Gets great positioning.

79.    Dan Shackleton, Great Valley, Senior
Another first-team all-league selection, Shackelton has an improved outside shot this year. The coaches look for big things in 2010.

80.    Vinny Sanders, Oxford, Junior
Sanders was a first-team all-league selection last season.

81.    Rysheen Dorn, Del. Valley
Dorn is a complete player. He sets his teammates up, and finds a way to finish. Look for his production to continue this season, however, it could be a frustrating year for his team. Prediction: Hist stats will be on the rise, but the team may have some work to do.

82.    DeQuann Walker, Malvern, Junior
Walker was a first-team all-Inter-Ac selection last year as a sophomore and could easily be one of the most respected young players in the league. DeQuann broke out as a true scorer last season, and after a great summer on the club circuit, is primed for another jump. Look for this Friar to become a star this year.

83.    Corey Blake, West Chester Rustin, Junior
Should complement league-MVP Rondell White as a wingman this season. Blake was another first-team all-league selection this year and could have been ranked higher. However, he still has something to prove this year as Rustin tries to outduel Oxford and Octorara.

84.    Nick Christian, Bensalem, Senior
Christian broke onto the scene as a sophomore and quickly established himself as a threat everytime he touches the ball. Able to score from anywhere on the floor, Christian brings a much-needed element to Bensalem's squad. His stats should stay steady, but Bensalem might still need another year to grow.

85.    Erik Raleigh, Constitution
6’8” forward/center that is a force to be reckoned with. A Marcus Camby like predator on defense, he lives off of blocked shots. Scores a good majority of his points on put-backs, but showed some improvement on the offensive side during the summer. Could be dominant if he improves his moves around the net.

86.    Andrew Stress, Council Rock North, Senior
A first-team all-league Sububan One player last season as a junior, Stress should compete for MVP looks this season.

87.    Mike Pincus, Central Bucks South, Senior
This 6'0 guard gained immediate fame after he stripped Catholic League player of the Year, Maalik Wayns, in the fourth quarter of the first round of PIAA Class AAAA playoffs last season in a 62-57 South win. A first-team Suburban One selection, Pincus is trying to lead South back to the playoffs for the second straight year.

88.    DeAndre Clark, Octorara, Junior
A second-team all-league selection as a sophomore, Clark joins Moses Togbah on a deep and experienced Octorara squad looking for that elusive championship.

89.    Miles Holmes, Unionville, Junior
This University of Pennsylvania commit took the league by storm last year. If this 6'5 165lb Junior packs on some muscle he could be a contender for MVP honors this season (definitely next year), after being a second-team selection last season.

90.    Rhamier White, West Chester Rustin, Junior
Often in the shadows of older brother Rondell White (Football superstar and Basketball MVP), Rhamier has a legacy of his own to make. Look for this Junior to have a break out season, as Rustin looks to repeat as league champs.

91.    Joe Getz, Arch. Wood, Junior
The 6'0 Getz was a leader on Wood's team last year as a sophomore average double-digit points (10.5). Wood is trying to rebound this year, and Getz will be a major reason for this team's success.

92.    Jay Harris, Robeson
Short and stocky, Harris had a huge season last year, and is expecting nothing less in 2009-2010. He could end up playing at the D-1 level if his inside-outside game continues to improve. A true scorer, Harris will lead Robeson in a number of categories all season long.

93.    Pat Evans, Octorara, Junior
Another second-team all-league selection last year for Octorara.

94.    Austin Curry, Germantown Academy
This 6'1 Senior Guard will be the perfect compliment to Cameron Ayers on a GA team looking for its fourth straight Inter-Ac title. Curry has the ability to score big points (had multiple games over 30 points) and dish it out (over 5 dimes per game). If GA wants to keep the winning tradition alive, Curry will be a major factor.

95.    Jesse Krasna, Pennsbury, Senior
A major contributor on last season's state quarterfinal squad, Krasna was a second-team Suburban One selection last year. Many are calling this a rebuilding year for Pennsbury after losing Dalton Pepper and Co. Krasna is looking to prove all of them wrong.

96.    Dalton Nice, Quakertown, Senior
Second-team all-league selection last year.

97.    Francis Rafferty, Upper Merion, Senior
Second-team all-league selection last year.

98.    Tom Sweeney, Wissahickon, Senior
Look for the 6'8 center to have another solid year as Wissahickon should compete with PW for the Suburban One League Title. Sweeney has the ability to hit outside jumpers or take you down to the low post. This second-team all-league selection led Wissahickon in rebounds and blocked shots.

99.     David Vining, Owen J. Roberts

100.    Eddie Joyner-Mitchell, LaSalle

*Special Thanks to K. Morris for player stats, info, and input on the Top 100.
