Respect Her Game Hoops: Summer League
Former Abington standout Déja Rawls – who went on to have a successful career as point guard for Siena College - has returned to the area. With a concern for a drop off in the level of play in girls’ basketball, Rawls established a business to not only help young girls develop their basketball skills, but also, with a mission to lead the next generation of female athletes to success on and off the floor.
Established in August 2023, Respect Her Game is a girls’ youth basketball league dedicated to fostering confidence and excellence through competitive athletics and community engagement. Since its inception, Respect Her game has held fall, winter, and spring leagues. Déja strives to make basketball accessible to girls from all backgrounds.
This summer, Respect Her Game will hold a league for both high school and middle school teams at Crestmont Park Courts, 2595 Rubicam Avenue, Willow Grove. Game days are Monday through Saturday (5-10 pm), beginning August 1st.

Diamond Eye Sports wrote the following about Respect Her Game leagues: “This allows high school girl ball players to not only sharpen their skills under the whistle in
game time situations prior to the high school season, but also, it’s an opportunity for the girls to be seen by other prospective coaches and recruiters to possibly compete in invitational tournaments and various evaluation workout camps.”
The league is open to high school, middle school, and 8th grade and under AAU teams but also invites coaches to form their own team.
In preparation for the summer leagues, Respect Her Game will host skill development and conditioning training sessions Friday through Sunday from 5-7 pm, beginning on July 5 at Crestmont Park Courts. Their full training schedule is available here.
A $150 deposit is due ASAP to secure a spot in the league, and the early team registration fee will end on July 5th.
