QUAKERTOWN 5, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0

The Panthers blew open a close game with four unanswered goals in the second period on their way to the shutout win.

Connor Ellmore scored just over five minutes into the opening period, using an assist from Lucas Cunnane. That 1-0 lead stood until Anthony Pagliei’s power play goal in the opening minute of the second period. Melanie Pezzano and William Shaw provided assists. Ellmore’s second goal – this one also with a Cunnane assist – put the Panthers on top 3-0 just over two minutes into the second period. Pagliei’s power play goal and a goal by Cole Slemmer (Kevin Flynn assist) closed out the scoring for the second period and the game.

Matthew Krem turned away all 16 shots he faced in goal to notch the shutout win for the Panthers. Mason Rash recorded 72 saves in a glittering performance in goal in the loss.

Thursday, Jan. 20

NESHAMINY 4, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0

The Redskins dominated play and held a 66-28 advantage in shots. That advantage was negated by the brilliant 62-save effort in goal of West’s Liam Rogers.

Neshaminy put three goals on the scoreboard in the opening period. Daniel McColgan scored with a Michael Knipple assist just over four minutes into the period, and two minutes later Joey Hornung found the net, using a JJ Hathaway assist. Max Gallagher’s power play goal with a Nolan Geria assist late in the period put the Redskins on top 3-0.

Just over two minutes into the second period, Ryan DeMatteo scored with a Max Gallagher assist. Neither team scored the rest of the way.

Neshaminy goalie Cory Hemberger turned away all 28 shots he faced in the shutout.

PENNSBURY 10, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3

Shane Siegmund and Brendan Macainsh both scored two goals and assisted on two others. The dangerous duo scored all four of those goals late in the second period to blow open a close game.

The two teams exchanged goals in the opening period. Colin Michalak (Siegmund assist) put the Falcons on the board in the opening seconds. Jackson Mosley’s power play goal with assists from Wilton Pasch and Nicholas Hahn evened the score.

Steph Grosscup’s goal with a Reese Picker assist gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead, but not for long. Thirty seconds later, Owen Stout (Karson Grainey assist) scored the equalizer. Ryan Kell’s power play goal (Hahn/Zach Weissman assists) put the Indians on top 3-2, but Pennsbury’s Jack McCaw knotted the score with a goal 7:26 into the period, using a Chris Sarver assist.

Two minutes later, Siegmund scored with a Macainsh assist, and less than a minute later Macainsh connected on a power play goal with a Connor Kane assist. A goal by Siegmund less than a minute later (Sean Taggart assist) gave the Falcons a 6-3 lead. Goals by Michalak (Macainsh assist) and Macainsh put the Falcons on top 8-3 heading into the final period.

A power play goal by Michalak (Andrew Falkenstein/Siegmund assists) was followed by an unassisted goal from Falkenstein to close out the scoring.

Pennsbury’s Aaron McDaniel notched the win in goal, turning away 14 of 17 shots.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 10, BENSALEM 1

The Titans erupted for eight unanswered goals in the second period to seize control of Thursday’s game at Hatfield Ice. Aydin Thierolf’s five-points game (3g, 2a) led a balanced Titan attack.

A short-handed goal by Daniel Kvecher 8:30 into the game gave the Titans an early lead, but Alex Hood’s power play goal with an Alex Bazylevich assist knotted the score.

The second period belonged to the Titans. Aydin Thierolf scored a goal that turned out to be the game-winner 2:49 into the period, using assists from Adam Cusick and Aidan Gaffney. That set the stage for goals by Daniel Kvecher (Matt Crouch/Colin Mendham assists), Brad Cannon (Justin Montagna assist), Montagna (DJ Lindenmuth/Thierolf assists), Gaffney (Thierolf/Cusick assists), Keith Waldron (Jonah Smith assist), Thierolf (Gaffney/Cusick assists) and Smith.

In the third period, Thierolf’s third goal of the game closed out the scoring.

South goalie Jason Magaruh turned away 11 of 12 shots he faced to earn the win.

Luke Weikel and Aidan Keogh proved to be double trouble for the Panthers. Weikel scored four goals and assisted on two others while Keogh spent the night setting up his teammates, assisting on five goals and scoring once. Matthew Flynn also had a busy night, handing out four assists. The defense was anchored by the stellar 30-save shutout effort of Kolton Gailie in goal.

The Colonials seized control of the game early, putting four goals on the board in the opening period. Weikel’s short-handed goal assisted by Keogh and Flynn gave PW a lead it would not lose three minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Aidan Keogh scored with assists from Weikel and Conlan Carpenter. David Branigan scored an unassisted goal, and Weikel’s goal with assists from Flynn and Keogh in the period’s final minute gave the Colonials a 4-0 lead.

In the second period, the Colonials received goals from Dylan Novitski (Flynn assist), Danny Smith (Isaac Mishkin assist) and Weikel on the power play (Flynn/Keogh assists).

In the final period, Weikel connected on a power play goal with a Keogh assist, and Jack Moffatt’s goal with assists from Weikel and Keogh closed out the scoring.

Ryan Pico turned away all 25 shots he faced in a standout effort in goal, leading the Rams to the shutout win.

Aidan Boyle’s unassisted goal late in the opening period turned out to be the game-winner. The Rams added a pair of goals in the second period. Shane Dachowski found the net with a short-handed goal, using assists from Boyle and Colin Dachowski. In the third period, Aeryk Lehrhaupt turned a Colin Dachowski pass into a goal, and Lehrhaupt’s unassisted goal on the power play closed out the scoring.

The Golden Hawks broke open a close game with three goals in the second period.

Gavin Nisenzon (Evan Mostoller and Kevin Koles assists) put the Golden Hawks on the scoreboard five minutes into the game. Two minutes later, North Penn’s Justin Yothers scored a short-handed goal to even the score. Julian Sarne’s short-handed goal late in the period with a Mostoller assist gave the Hawks a lead they would not lose.

That 2-1 lead stood until late in the second period when the Golden Hawks scored three goals in a four-minute span. Mostoller (Matthew Constantini assist), Sam Cherkassky (Kevin Koles assist) and Sarne (Koles/Constantini assists) each scored a goal in that span. Chekassky and Sarne scored power play goals.

David Vergules’ unassisted goal late in the third period closed out the scoring.

Carson Lopez earned the win between the pipes, turning away 18 of 19 shots he faced for the Golden Hawks. Nicholas Crist recorded 30 saves for the Knights.
