CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, BENSALEM 2
The Patriots broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of goals in the third period to eke out the win over the Owls. Although it was not reflected on the scoreboard, the Patriots held a 42-15 advantage in shots, an advantage that was negated by the 39-save effort in goal of Ricky Gonzalez.
Bensalem’s Danny Mackley scored 37 seconds into the opening period, using assists from Alex Bazylevich and Alex Hood. That 1-0 lead stook until Bogdan Borodenko scored late in the second period with assists from Tyler Godown and Phil McIntyre.
Godown scored the go-ahead goal 3:13 into the final period with assists from Borodenko and Corey Kosick. Three minutes later, Aiden Schmidt found the net with an insurance goal, using assists from McIntyre and Nick Young. That goal loomed large when Mackley scored his second goal of the game 8:24 into the final period with an assist from Bazylevich to make it a 3-2 game. Neither team scored the rest of the way.
East goalie Matt Mangiacapre was credited with 13 saves in the win.

In a classic battle between the neighboring rivals, the Falcons scored a pair of third period goals to earn the win at Grundy Ice last Thursday.
Neither team got on the scoreboard until 6:26 into the second period when Neshaminy’s Jacob Helms found the net with an assist from Jack Halloran. The Redskins held that 1-0 lead until 9:10 into the third period when Brandan Macainsh (Chris Sarver assist) connected on a shorthanded goal. Two minutes later, Shane Siegmund found the net on a power play goal with assists from Macainsh and Justin Marlin.
The Falcons held a lopsided 48-19 advantage in shots, but Neshaminy goalie Brian Nelson was a rock in goal, turning away 46 of 48 shots. Pennsbury’s Aaron McDaniel recorded 18 saves in a winning effort in goal.

Overtime could not determine a winner in Wednesday’s battle of SHSHL powers that saw the Rams rally from a 3-1 deficit to even the score.
Rock South’s Julian Sarne (Kevin Koles assist) scored a power play goal 7:06 into the opening period, but two minutes later Aeryk Lehrhaupt returned the favor, connecting on a power play goal with assists from Shane Dachowski and Jack Lowery. Koles scored a late goal to give the Golden Hawks a 2-1 lead after one period, using assists from David Vergules and Julian Wagenmann.
The Golden Hawks upped their lead to 3-1 when Wagenmann scored an unassisted goal 12 minutes into the second period, but Shane Dachowski scored to make it a one-goal game heading into the final period. Andrew David had the assist.
Kevin Pico turned a Tyler Manto pass into a goal 11:34 into the third period, and neither team scored the rest of the way.
Ryan Pico notched the win in goal, turning away 26 of 29 shots. Rock South’s Carson Lopez was credited with 30 saves in a contest that saw the Rams hold a 33-29 edge in shots.

The Titans took a 2-0 lead into third period only to watch the Knights rally to knot the score. The Titans responded with a pair of late goals to eke out the win over the pesky Knights.
After a scoreless opening period, Aydin Thierolf scored a pair of second period goals. His first – 1:12 into the period – was unassisted, and the second came five minutes later with assists from Aidan Gaffney and Adam Cusick.
The Titans’ 2-0 lead disappeared in a hurry in the third period when the Knights scored back-to-back goals. Justin Yothers scored 3:16 into the period with an assist from Sam Mostochuck, and three minutes later, Joseph Silvotti scored with a John Stinson assist, knotting the score 2-2.
That tie stood until five minutes remained in regulation when Colin Mendham connected on a power play goal with assists from DJ Lindenmuth and Justin Montagna. Aidan Gaffney scored an empty net goal in the closing seconds of the period, using a Daniel Kvecher assist.
Dominic Varacallo stopped 19 of 21 shots to earn the win in goal for the Titans.

Ten different players put their names in the scoring column for the Indians, who led by just a 2-1 score after one period but closed out the game with a 5-0 tear.
The Panthers got on the scoreboard first when Branden McNally found the net with an unassisted goal 5:33 into the game. It took the Indians less than a minute to even the score when Evan Thacker turned a Seth Grossman pass into a goal. Jacob Chow scored with a Jaime Avaria assist 8:46 into the period, and that 2-1 lead stood until Liam O’Neill scored 6:31 into the second period. By the time the period ended, Grossman found the net on a power play (Matthew Malanga assist), and Nicholas Smith connected on an unassisted goal to put the Indians on top 5-1.
Third period goals by Carter Povazan and Anthony Lanzilotti closed out the scoring. Lanzilotti’s came on the power play with assists from Liam O’Neill and Benjamin Fadden.
Liam Kelly turned away 30 of 31 shots to earn the win in goal for the Indians.

The Trojans opened up an early lead and never looked back on their way to the no-doubt-about-it win. AJ Pounds (1g, 2a), Nicholas Hussa (2g, 1a), Hudson Honeycutt (3a) and Jaxson Shandler (1g, 2a) each had three-point games to lead a balanced Trojan attack.
Hussa scored with a Ty Schiff assists six minutes into the game, and six minutes later, Nolan Pounds scored with a Shandler assists, giving the Trojans a 2-0 lead after one period.
Nicholas Hussa scored an unassisted power play goal early in the second before the Panthers got on the board when Matthew Castan scored on a power play with an Andrew Matz assist. That 3-1 score didn’t last very long as Will Hussa scored on a power play less than a minute later with assists from Nicholas Hussa and AJ Pounds. Then it was AJ Pounds finding the net with assists from Honeycutt and Shandler to send the Trojans into the third period with a 5-1 lead.
In the final period, AJ Pounds scored a shorthanded goal with a Honeycutt assist, and then it was Matthew Winkowski scoring back-to-back goals – the first shorthanded with a Will Huss assist and the second even strength with an assist from Honeycutt. Shandler’s goal late in the period with assists from Nolan Pounds and Griffin Lynch closed out the scoring.
Michael Bonanni turned away 33 of 34 shots he faced to earn the win in goal for the Trojans.

The Ghosts took a three-goal lead into the final period and then held off a late charge from the Trojans to earn the win. Sam Nemec recorded 41 saves in goal for the Ghosts, negating a 44-32 Wissahickon advantage in shots.
Pat Stelacio’s power play goal with an assist from Griffin Carpenter late in the opening period gave the Ghosts a 1-0 lead.
Danny Hussa (Nicholas Hussa assist) found the net on a power play goal 1:41 into the second period, knotting the score 1-1. Midway through the period Jordan Heydt scored an unassisted goal to give the Ghosts a one-goal advantage. A pair of goals in the closing minutes of the period – the first by Matthew Cholaj (Joe Stelacio assist) and the second by Sam Paulik (Ryan Portner assist) - sent the Ghosts into the final period with a 4-1 advantage.
Nicholas Hussa made it a 4-2 game with an unassisted goal nine minutes into the period, and then it was Hudson Honeycutt scoring an unassisted goal with four minutes remaining in regulation to pull the Trojans within one. That’s as close as the Trojans would get despite their 23-12 advantage in shots in the period.
