Friday, Feb. 4

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 9, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 5

Karson Grainey had himself a night to remember, scoring or assisting on seven of nine goals with five goals and two assists. His stellar offensive outing led the Indians to the non-league win at Revolution Ice Garden.

Luke Weikel’s power play goal and Conlan Carpenter’s short-handed goal spotted the Colonials a 2-0 lead after one period.

Grainey went to work in the second period, scoring back-to-back goals to even the score 2-2 – the first with a Nicholas Hahn assist and the second with assists from Hahn and Lucas Siomos. Siomos (Hahn and Grainey assists) scored 2:40 into the second period to put the Indians on top 3-2.  

PW’s Matthew Flynn scored with an Aidan Keogh assist to knot the score, but Grainey’s power play goal late in the period gave the Indians a lead they would not lose.

A pair of Jackson Accardi goals around a power play goal by Grainey to open the third period put the Colonials on top 8-3. PW’s Keogh scored a power play goal (Matthew Flynn assist), but Grainey (Hahn/Ryan Keil assists) and Accardi answered for the Indians. Weikel scored a late goal with a Flynn assist to close out the scoring.

Flynn’s four-point game (one goal, three assists) led the Colonials.

Also for the Indians, Hahn assisted on five goals for a five-point night, and Accardi had a four-point night with a hat trick and one assist.

Rock North goalie Ian Goldberg notched the win.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, SOUDERTON 0

The Golden Hawks broke a scoreless tie with five second-period goals on their way to the shutout win.

Kevin Koles put his name in the scoring column 1:27 into the second period, and that 1-0 score stood until Julian Sarne scored 10 minutes later. Goals by David Vergules (Matthew Constantini and Nolan O’Brien assists), Gavin Nisenzon (Sam Cherkassky) and Julian Wagenmann (Vergules assist) sent the Hawks into the final period with a 5-0 advantage. Nisenzon’s goal was short-handed.

The Golden Hawks closed out the game with goals from Wagenmann, Blaize Pepe (Koles assist) and Koles (Chase Tovsky assist). Pepe and Koles both connected on the power play.

Carson Lopez was forced to make just nine saves in the shutout win. Noah Connor stopped 37 of 45 shots, keeping the Indians in it until late in the second period.

Thursday, Feb. 3

WISSAHICKON 7, HATBORO-HORSHAM 3

The Trojans raced out of the gate to a 4-0 lead at the end of one period on their way to the win.

Will Hussa turned a pass from his brother Danny into a goal just over two minutes into the game, and two minutes later, Danny Hussa scored to give the Trojans an early 2-0 lead. Ty Schiff and AJ Pounds (Griffin Lynch) each added a goal to give the Trojans their early four-goal advantage.

Just over a minute into the second period, another goal by the Hussa siblings - this time with Will assisting Danny – put the Trojans on top 5-0. The Hatters answered with back-to-back goals by Thomas Neeld (Tarek Elsabbagh assist) and Elsabbagh to close out the period, pulling the Hatters to within three.

Elsabbagh’s second goal – this one with a Darius Graziani assist – made it a 5-3 game 10 minutes into the third period, but the Trojans closed it out with late goals by Pounds and Jaxson Shandler (Pounds assist) for the 7-3 final.

Wissahickon goalie Michael Bonanni was credited with 14 saves in a winning effort. Hatboro-Horsham’s Mason Rash kept his team in it with 64 saves on 71 shots.

Tyler Manto scored three goals and assisted on another, and teammate Colin Dachowski had three assists to lead the Rams to the win in Thursday’s rivalry game at Hatfield Ice.

Shane Dachowski turned a Colin Dachowski pass into a goal 26 seconds into the game to give the Rams an early lead. Colin Mendham answered with a goal for the Titans, using a DJ Lindenmuth assist.

The Rams scored back-to-back goals in the opening 2:15 of the second period – the first by Manto (Kevin Pico assist) and the second from Shane Dachowski (Colin Dachowski assist). The Titans answered with a power play goal from DJ Lindenmuth (Jake Stepp), pulling the Titans to within one at the end of two periods, 3-2.

South made things interesting when Mendham scored his second goal of the game, this one with a Lindenmuth assist, knotting the score 3-3.

Manto scored a power play goal with an assist from Colin Dachowski, and Manto followed that with an even strength goal, and the Rams had their final margin of victory.

Ryan Pico turned away 20 of 23 shots in a winning effort in goal for the Rams.

Luke Weikel (two goals, two assists) and Aidan Keogh (four assists) both had four-point games to lead the Colonials’ attack. Kolton Galie was perfect in goal, turning away all 26 shots he faced in the shutout win.

Matthew Flynn turned a pass from Keogh into a goal 2:49 into the game that turned out to be the game-winner. Goals by Jayson Yoder (Weikel assist) and Flynn (Keogh and Weikel assists) gave the Colonials a 3-0 lead after one period. Weikel scored 9:22 into the second period with assists from Flynn and Keogh, and the Colonials led 4-0 heading into the final period.

The Colonials added goals by Isaac Mishkin (Dylan Novitski and Timothy Murphy assists) and Weikel (Keogh assist) for the 6-0 final.

The Colonials held a 30-26 edge in shots, but Galie was a difference maker for the defense.

The Falcons received four-point efforts from Reece Millman (two goals, two assists), Brendan Macainsh (two goals, two assists), Jake McCaw (four goals) and Logan Doyle (two goals, two assists) as they rolled to the no-doubt-about-it win.

The Falcons seized control early, scoring six goals in the opening period. Macainsh scored with assists from Colin Michalak and Shane Siegmund 22 seconds into the game. Five minutes later Jake McCaw scored with a Chris Sarver assist. Logan Doyle’s short-handed goal with a Connor Coyne assist put the Falcons on top 3-0. Millman (Macainsh assist) McCaw (Sarver and Millman assists) and Sarver (Millman and Doyle assists) each added a goal to put the Falcons on top 6-0.

That score stood until 11:31 into the second period when Alex Hood (Matthew Rowan and Alex Bazylevich assists) put the Owls on the board. The Falcons closed it out with a 5-0 tear that included power play goals by Millman and Doyle, a short-handed goal by McCaw and even strength goals by Macainsh and McCaw.

Aaron McDaniel was credit with seven saves in goal in the win.

PENNSBURY 6, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3

The Falcons rallied from a 3-1 deficit after one period, outscoring the Patriots 6-0 the rest of the way to earn the come-from-behind win.

Colin Michalak spotted the Falcons a 1-0 lead 4:13 into the game, using assists from Brendan Macainsh and Shane Siegmund. The Patriots answered with back-to-back goals by Phil McIntyre – the first assisted by Aiden Schmidt and Stephen DiRugeri. Bogdan Borodenko’s goal with a Corey Kosick assist put the Patriots on top 3-1.

Chris Sarver scored with an assist from Evan Eisler for the only goal of the second period, pulling the Falcons to within one heading into the final period.

The fourth period belonged to the Falcons, who received one goal each from Macainsh (Siegmund assist), Sarver (Justin Marlin assist), Colin Michalak (Jake McCaw assist) and Siegmund (Macainsh assist). Sarver’s was a short-handed goal.

Aaron McDaniel was credited with 34 saves in a winning effort in goal. Matt Mangiacapre turned away 40 of 46 shots in goal for the Patriots.

Cole Slemmer scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Panthers to the win at Hatfield Ice on Wednesday. The Panthers opened up a 3-0 lead and led wire to wire.

Jack Diliberto scored 10-and-a-half minutes into the game to spot the Panthers an early lead, using a Slemmer assist. Slemmer’s unassisted goal late in the period put the Panthers on top 2-0 after one period.

Corbin Cassel scored with a Diliberto assist four minutes into the second period, and the Panthers led 3-0. Tarek Elsabbagh found the net on the power play, putting the Hatters on the board with assists from Darius Graziani and James Cortez. Slemmer got that goal back just over a minute later with assists from William Shaw and Kevin Flynn.

In the third period, Elsabbagh scored his second goal, this one unassisted to make it a 4-2 game, and Anthony Pagliei scored to close out the scoring with a goal assisted by Slemmer.

Matthew Krem notched the win in goal in a contest that saw the Panthers hold a 56-15 advantage in shots.

Neshaminy took a seemingly comfortable 4-0 lead after one period and still led by two heading into the final period that saw the Indians close out the game with three unanswered goals.

Jacob Adami (JJ Hathaway assist) and Joey Hornung (DJ Harris) each scored a goal, and Max Gallagher followed with back-to-back goals – the first with a Hathaway assist and the second with assists from Ryan DeMatteo and Liam Mooney, and Neshaminy led 4-0.

Jackson Accardi (Nicholas Hahn and Karson Grainey assists) scored to break the Redskins’ early tear, but Daniel McColgan scored a power play goal with an assist from Hathaway. The rest of the game belonged to the Indians. A short-handed goal by Accardi (Grainey and Jackson Mosley assists) was followed by a Jackson Mosely goal with assists from Zach Weissman and Grainey, pulling the Indians to within two (5-3) heading into the final period.

Mosley scored with assists from Weissman and Siomos 4:13 into the third period, and Grainey’s even strength goal five minutes later knotted the score. Hahn scored the game-winner 11:40 into the period, using assists from Weissman and Siomos.

Rock North goalie was credited with 24 saves in goal in the win.

Joe Stelacio scored three goals and assisted on two others, and his five-point game led the Ghosts. Contributing four-point games were Sam Paulik (one goal, three assists) and Pat Stelacio (one goal, three assists).

The Ghosts took care of business in a hurry, reeling off four unanswered goals after the Panthers knotted the score at one goal apiece 2:25 into the game on a goal by Alex Tsikoudis (Tre Dyer). Abington received a pair of goals from Matthew Kramer and single goals from Sam Paulik, Griffin Carpenter and Joe Stelacio to go on top 5-1 after one period.

The Ghosts brought an end to the game with six goals in the second period. Joe Stelacio scored a pair while Sean Faye, Pat Stelacio, Seamus Donofry and Carpenter each scored one goal for the 11-1 final.

Also finishing with multi-point games for the Ghosts were Matthew Cholaj (2a), Kramer (2g) and Carpenter (2g).

Sam Nemec earned the win in goal for the Ghosts, turning away 13 of 14 shots. Devin Brown turned away the only two shots he faced.
