COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5, PENNRIDGE 2

The Rams took an early 2-0 lead, but the rest of the game belonged to the Hawks, who reeled off five unanswered goals to earn the win at Grundy. Jake Weiner’s four-point game, which included a hat trick, led the Hawks.
Back-to-back goals in less than a minute by Nathan McKean (Ryan Burke assist) and Landan Bishop (Burke/Dean Venner assists) gave the Rams a 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest.
With 14:19 remaining in the opening period, Jordan Sarne turned a pass from Weiner into a power play goal, and with five minutes remaining in the frame, Weiner scored the equalizer with assists from Jeremy Rayher and Jackson Mosely. Weiner’s second goal of the game with 2:12 remaining in the period gave the Hawks a lead they would not lose. Rayher and Jagger Smith had assists on a goal that turned out to be the game-winner.
With one second remaining in the second period, Smith scored with a Jacob Cohen assist, giving the Hawks a 4-2 lead heading into the final period.
Weiner’s third goal with 31 seconds remaining was a short-handed goal into an empty net, giving Rock South its final margin of victory.
Trey Prozzillo earned the win between the pipes, recording 28 saves. Jacob Weiner had 34 saves in a contest that saw the Hawks hold a 39-30 advantage in shots.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 8, WISSAHICKON 2
The Colonials rolled to their 14th league win without a loss, opening up a 6-0 lead after two periods and coasting to the decisive win. Daniel Guller’s four-point game (1g, 3a) led a balanced PW attack.
Blake Ambler opened the scoring midway through the opening period, using assists from Guller and Ryan Jagher. Adding single goals in the first period were Guller (Jagher assist), Ryan Campbell (Jagher/Cooper Kanze assists) and Brandon Woodridge (unassisted).
The Colonials took that 4-0 lead into the second period when Luke Smith (Chris London Jr/Woolridge assists) and Ambler (Guller assist) each scored a goal.
Logan Honeycutt broke up the Colonials’ shutout with a goal five-and-a-half minutes into the third period, using a John Kuffner assist. John Zawislak answered with a goal for PW, and then it was Kanze finding the back of the net. Honeycutt’s second goal (Dryden Jaisle assist) with two seconds remaining made it an 8-2 game.
The Colonials held a 57-24 advantage in shots. Julian Lucks was credited with 22 saves in a winning effort in goal. Fletcher Lynch turned away 49 shots in a busy night.

The Hatters solidified their hold on second place in the SHSHL American Conference with their shutout win of the Ghosts.
Vincent Graziani connected for the hat trick, and his goal with an Evan Snow assist just over five minutes into the game turned out to be the game-winner. Two minutes later, Nathan Nemchinov scored with assists from Reid Rochestie and Giovanni Bucci to give the Hatters a 2-0 lead after one period.
In the second period, Graziani turned a Victor Wilkins pass into a short-handed goal, and Nemchinov’s power play goal with assists from Aiden North and Snow sent the Hatters into the final period with a 4-0 lead.
Graziani completed his hat trick with a goal early in the third period, again using a Snow assist, for the 5-0 final.
Eric Miller was forced to make just eight saves in the shutout win in goal. Abington goalie Matthew Evangelist was credited with 43 saves in a contest that saw the Hatters hold a 48-8 advantage in shots.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 8, SOUDERTON 5
Jake Weiner erupted for five goals to lead the Golden Hawks to the win Wednesday at Grundy.  The Golden Hawks led 3-2 after one period and never relinquished their lead although the Indians – sparked by the five-goal effort of Nicholas Smith - did not go down quietly.
Jeremy Rayher’s power play goal with assists from Jackson Mosley and Jordan Sarne put the Hawks on the board just over seven minutes into the game. Weiner (Jonah Weston assist) scored to make it a 2-0 game, but Smith (Cameron Fairweather/Maxwell Ryon assists) cut that lead in half with a goal for Souderton midway through the period.
That 2-1 score stood until Rayher scored with assists from Sarne and Peter Pereborow with 1:10 remaining. Smith responded with a goal for the Indians, using assists from Ryon and Luca Ferretti.
Back-to-back goals in a one-minute span early in the second period by Brendan Rooney (Jacob Cohen/Luke Ralston assists) and Weiner (Jagger Smith/Daniel Filippov assists) put the Golden Hawks on top 5-2.
Smith and Weiner exchanged goals, and the Hawks took a 6-3 lead into the final period that saw the two teams once again exchange goals. Weiner scored a pair of goals sandwiched around a goal by Smith, and Smith closed out the scoring with 6:29 remaining for the 8-5 final.
Rock South held a 42-30 advantage in shots. Trey Prozzillo notched the win in goal, turning away 25 shots.

NORTH PENN 9, PENNSBURY 2
Samuel Norton had a hand in seven of the Knights’ nine goals, connecting on a hat trick and assisting on four others for a seven-point game to lead North Penn to the convincing win. Cole Pluck turned in a five-point effort, scoring twice and assisting on three goals.
Pluck scored the only goal of the first period, connecting on a power play midway through the frame with assists from Derek Lugara and Samuel Norton.
The Knights blew the game open with five straight goals to open the second period. Norton scored three goals in that NP run while Danial Cabrales and Declan Willison each had one goal.
Shane Hicks put the Falcons on the board with an unassisted goal with just 42 seconds remaining in the period.
A goal in the opening minute of the third period by Pennsbury’s Shane Gleisner (Dylan Nink/Jacob Sarver assists) made it a 5-2 game, but the Knights scored three unanswered goals to close out the game – one each from Shingle, Pluck and Derek Lugara.
Aidan Quigley was credited with 14 saves in a winning effort in goal.

James Sarsfield turned away all 18 shots he faced to earn the shutout win in goal. It is the fourth shutout of the season for Sarsfield and the Spartans and second in as many games.
Owen Quinn played the role of facilitator, assisting on four of the five goals, while Grayson Quinn had two goals and one assist in a three-point game.
Grayson Quinn’s short-handed goal with 2:38 remaining in the opening period turned out to be the game-winner. Kellen Warman and Owen Quinn provided assists. With three seconds remaining in the period, Gabriel Wells scored, using assists from Warman and Owen Quinn.
In the second period, Wells connected on his second goal, this time with assists from Grayson Quinn and Trent Gardner. A goal by Grayson Quinn with 4:23 remaining in the period with assists from Owen Quinn and Richard Belles gave Springfield a 4-0 lead after two periods.
Christopher Cahill’s goal with an Owen Quinn assist two-and-a-half minutes into the third period closed out the scoring.
Springfield held a lopsided 41-18 advantage in shots. Wissahickon’s Fletcher Lynch was credited with 36 saves in goal.

The Titans erupted for 11 first-period goals on their way to the mercy rule win over Rock North last Wednesday at Hatfield Ice.
Joseph Slobodrian’s six-point game led the Titans’ potent attack and included four goals and two assists. Dominic Gibson added two goals and three assists in a five-point game while Logan Hood (2g, 2a) and Ryan Frey (1g, 3a) both had four-point games.
Brennan Thierolf (Hood assist) scored his first of two goals to open the scoring, and 14 seconds later Frey found the net with a Slobodrian assist. Gibson’s goal with a Frey assist with 10:52 remaining in the period would stand as the game-winner, but both Ryan Montagna (Jeffrey Kvecher assist) and Alexander Cannon (Hood assist) added goals  to put the Titans on top 6-0 before Rock North got on the scoreboard.
Jackson Accardi scored with an Ivan Bondra assist for the Indians, but less than a minute later, Kvecher answered with an empty net goal. The Titans closed out the period with goals by Slobodrian, Keith Waldron, Thierolf and Hood to go on top 11-1 after one period. Jamison Crouch had a pair of assists in the Titans’ 5-0 run to close out the frame.
The second period featured goals by Hood, Gibson, Braxton Lord and Slobodrian while Brodyn Capaldi scored a pair for the Indians.
