How about those Bensalem Owls????
Bensalem (3-5) won its third straight conference game and at the same time handed Truman (7-2) its second straight conference loss as the Owls captured a 3-2 win.
“There are no gimmes in this league,” said Truman head coach Jeff Vitale. “We beat them by a run earlier in the year, and they got us back this time. They have a very good baseball team.
“We went 13 innings between the CR South game and the Bensalem game without scoring a run,” added Vitale. “James Wallace drove a couple of runs home for us in the bottom of the seventh, and we brought the tying run to the plate. We came back but not far enough.
“I knew that after we went 7-0 in the first half of the season, it was going to be tough to do it again,” continued Vitale. “Honestly, any team in this league can beat you.”

Council Rock South (7-2) won its fifth straight conference game as the Golden Hawks flew to a 7-3 victory over host Abington (3-5).
“There is one thing that I know for certain, both Abington and Bensalem are going to decide which team wins this conference,” said Council Rock South head coach Greg Young. “Abington has a solid team defensively, and they also have some very good pitching.”
Rock South got some solid pitching from sophomore Brian Fleming. Fleming earned the save by getting the final four outs of the game to secure the win for the Hawks. Jeff Miller recorded the win for CR South.
“Brian came into the game when we were up by just 4-3, and Abington had runners of second and third,” said Young. “But he got out of trouble in that inning, and we got three runs in the top of the seventh inning to make it comfortable.”
Senior Billy Fleming led the Hawk offensive attack with three hits, while Justin Thomas and Bret DeStefano each collected key RBI doubles.

Upper Moreland (9-2) rallied from a 4-3 deficit to defeat host Wissahickon (5-7) – 7-4.
“I told the coaching staff after the game that this was very good for us,” said Upper Moreland head coach Ernie Rehr. “We haven’t been in a close game for a while, and it was great to have that competition. We needed to have a good challenge, and Wissahickon gave it to us.”

“Robert was in control the entire game, and he never got rattled,” said Rehr. “They only had one runner reach third base in the three innings that he pitched. He gave us the chance to win the game.”
Senior catcher Dave McInerney was once again awesome at the plate with a triple and a homerun.
