CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 14, SOUDERTON 4
The Indians kept things interesting for one half, trailing 4-3 at the intermission, but the Patriots blew the game wide open with a 6-0 third quarter scoring explosion. They went on to outscore the Indians 10-1 in the second half.
Chris Vetter led a balanced East attack with three goals and two assists. Zach Kane also had a hat trick while Parker Self (two assists) and Ethan Debuque both scored two goals. The Patriots received single goals from Jeff Kuhn, Cole Rushworth, Eric Riva and Chris Schneeklof. Brian Garcia had a pair of assists.
The Indians received two goals from both Cameron Trick and Ridge Schultz. Tyler MacDougal contributed an assist.
Schneeklof won 17 of 19 face-offs for the Patriots. Pete Donovan led East’s defense with six ground balls. Kane, Rushworth and Ryan Connors each had four ground balls.
The Indians received a standout 23-save effort from freshman goalie Remi Reeves and, according to coach Todd Pettit, a standout defensive effort from Pete Walbrandt – who had three ground balls - and Hunter McGowan.
HATBORO-HORSHAM 11, NORTH PENN 2
The Hatters won their fifth straight game on Wednesday, turning a 2-1 lead after one quarter into a 4-1 halftime lead. A 4-1 third quarter put the Hatters on top 8-2 on their way to the decisive win.
Jake Durkin (three goals two assists), Kyle Mullen (three goals, one assist) and Jimmy Murphy (three goals) led a balanced Hatter attack. Trevor Downing added one goal and three assists and Ben Cellini had one goal. Austin Brownell added an assist.
The Hatters’ defense was led by Dom Defazio, Tyler Gehlhaus and Jake Cresta. Defazio led the team with seven ground balls. Mark Poust picked up the win in goal, turning away 10 shots.
The Hatters return to action on Thursday when they will face Spring-Ford in a non-league battle featuring two area powers.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 7, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 4
Junior goalie Ryan Kelly turned away 14 shots to key a strong defensive effort by the Titans. The Titans also received big defensive efforts from juniors Timmy McCrudden and Connor Bechtel as well as freshman Kevin Witchie in a contest that saw the Bucks hold a 34-28 advantage in shots.
The Titans jumped out to a 3-0 lead and never looked back on their way to the hard-fought win. Seven different players contributed one goal each, led by Willie Pendleton with one goal and one assist. The Titans also received single goals from Tommy DiBrino, Anthony Poane, Tyler Strayline, Tyler McGee, Jimmy Gallagher and Tyler Brittin.
The Bucks were led by the two-goal effort of Jimmy Steigerwald.
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 17, HARRY S TRUMAN 3
Nick Gugliemi led a balanced Golden Hawk attack, contributing four goals and two assists. Mitchel Vaysman also had four goals, and Kyle Walter added three goals and one assist. Corey Giampietro (one goal, two assists), Tommy Vanderslice (one goal, one assist), Justin Kole (one goal), Shane Magrann (one goal), Colin Patterson (one goal), Kyle Fizel (one goal), Matt Dunleavy (one assist), Sam Presley (one assist) and Tim Bruememmer (one assist) also got into the scoring column.
With the win, Rock South improved to 5-3 on the season.
WISSAHICKON 9, SPRINGFIELD 1
The Trojans opened up a quick 3-0 lead at the end of one quarter and took a 4-1 lead into halftime before blowing the game wide open in the second half. Luke Gomez and Zach Scannieco both contributed three goals and one assist to lead the Trojans. Tyler Crothers, Pat Magdalinski, Josh Stollman and Matt Blank each scored one goal while John Carrozza had one assist.
Jake Myers was credited with three saves in goal for the Trojans.
