Pennsbury 11, Neshaminy 2
The officials saw Neshaminy score just once, but everyone else saw the Redskins hit the net twice.
In fact the second time, Alex McKenzie fired a shot from the restraining line with less than two minutes left that had such velocity on it, it tore a hole in the net.
“It was a quality shot that hit the upper right,” said Pennsbury coach Jamie Huber.
“Pennsbury vs. Neshaminy is a great rivalry, and we are disappointed with our effort,” said Neshaminy coach Josh Hanlon. “With that being said, Pennsbury is a strong team that capitalizes on our mistakes and they have a strong coaching staff and smart lacrosse players.”
Calvin Hopkins (assist) and Ricky Jutkiewicz accounted for a majority of the Falcons’ offense with four goals each. Andrew Probst chipped in five assists.
Midfielder Josh Caven had a big day by winning seven of 10 faceoffs.
Goalie Drew Sweetland stopped 11 shots, while his Redskin counterpart, Auston Marshall, turned aside 13 shots.
“It’s always good to beat Neshaminy; they’re a big rival,” said Huber. “Unfortunately the last two years it hasn’t been much of a rivalry on the scoreboard, but the kids still really get up for it and it’s exciting.”
Abington 16, Council Rock South 6
The Ghosts rolled past CR South as they took a 12-1 lead at the half.
Ryan Ambler led the barrage with four goals and five assists, Brian Gallagher pumped in four goals and one assists, while Matt Figeuroa (two assists) and Matt Gormley chipped in two goals apiece.
Goalie Eric Goldsborough turned aside 13 shots, while
Travis O'Connor stopped six.
“We pretty much controlled the game from the get-go,” said Abington coach Randy McNeill.
South received goals from Nick Gugliemi, Addletollen and Mitch Vaysman.
Goalie Tim Brummer had 11 saves.
Council Rock North 8, Harry S Truman 2
Backup goalie Bob Grieda turned in a stellar performance with 11 saves.
“He did a great job of clearing the ball and coaching the young guys in front of him,” said North coach Joe Kivlen. “Our defense looked good, but we struggled to execute what we wanted to on offense.”
Brian Fitzpatrick and Chris Gifford contributed two goals apiece, while Jon Rinker, Drew Dispirito, Taylor Smigo and Tyler Shablin chipped in solo goals.
“We had a ton of hustle plays which we were happy about,” said Kivlen.

Central Bucks South 9, Souderton 8
After losing to the Indians 5-4 in the second league game of the year, C.B. South turned the tables in the second go-round.
Tyler Cliggett broke an 8-8 deadlock with about a minute and a half on his second goal of the game.
Like the first time, the contest was a seesaw affair with neither team able to take control.
“It was definitely a moral victory,” said Titan coach Dan Lorenz. “The guys played great. We try to tell them that if they work hard good things will come.”
One of the hardest workers on the field was Luke Dachowski, who led all players with six goals.
“He played out of his mind,” said Lorenz.
Tyler Britton scored the Titans’ other goal, while goalie Ryan Kelly came up with 11 saves on 19 shots.
South faces North Penn next week. The Knights have been South’s lone win of the league season so far, and they’re hoping to rack up back-to-back wins for the first time.
Souderton (5-6) (3-5) received three goals and an assist from freshman Cameron Trick, two goals and an assist from sophomore Tyler Macdougall, two goals from J.P. Carroll and one goal from Ridge Schultz. Bryan Ziegler added two assists and Grant Nice had 12 saves in goal.
Pennridge 11, North Penn 8
With the win, Pennridge set a new milestone. It was the first time the Rams have beaten North Penn twice in a season, and the first time they have swept two teams in a season, the other being C.B. South.
“It was a big win for us,” said Pennridge coach Tom Wyatt. “It shows we’re a program that’s a contender.”
Pennridge fell behind 5-4 at the half but took an 8-7 lead in the third quarter.
Goalie Ryan White came up big, especially late in the game when North Penn made what Wyatt called “a valiant comeback.” White had 18 saves.
On offense, sophomore attackman Eric Fernandez notched five goals.

Upper Dublin 7, Upper Merion 3
The Cardinals are starting to get their wings just in time to make things interesting.
After losing to the Vikings in the first league game of the season, Upper Dublin, now healthy and beginning to play like a team, avenged that loss with an overpowering performance.
The Cardinals led Upper Merion 5-0 into the fourth quarter.
Goalie Jack Deragon and his defense played nearly flawlessly, and the offense spread the wealth in the win.
“He was unbelievable in the cage,” said UD coach Jon Levin of his goalie. “To hold a team scoreless for 90 percent of the game, he’s doing his job. The defense played as good a game as they have all season.”
Offensively, Will Beury and Kyle Giordano scored a pair of goals, while Mike Rama added a goal and two assists.
“Everybody was working together,” said Levine. “The game plan worked at both ends of the field.”
Upper Merion’s three fourth-quarter goals came from Trevor Kupecky (two assists), Luc Minnich and Pat Vandergeest.
Viking goalie Conor Crowe was also brilliant with 13 saves.
Wissahickon 13, Norristown 6

The Colonials Colin Joka set the school career goal record, scoring a pair early in the first quarter.
His total now stands at 170 and counting.
PW took a 14-0 lead at the half, but as Colonial coach Phil Chang said, “Upper Moreland played a lot tougher than the score shows. They are a much-improved team. Their coach is doing a good job.”
Ryan Christensen led the Golden Bears with a pair of goals, with Nick Nolen, Talon Blickley, Dylan Giesler and Ellis Fatizzi chipping in single tallies.
Nick Balko stopped 13 shots in goal.
