National Conference

Pennridge 17, Council Rock North 12
In a battle of two of the top teams in the conference, Pennridge used an explosive 6-goal second quarter to get a cushion and remained unbeaten in league play with a 17-12 victory over Council Rock North on Thursday.
“We shot well to start the game,” said Pennridge coach Chris Pianko. “We knew that they had a very potent offense and could score a lot, and in order to win we would need a big game from the offense.”
Ben Souder sparked the Rams’ attack, winning 23 of 31 draws and netting his first goal of the season in the win.
“Ben was doing a great job at the X again, which was huge as it has been all year,” Pianko said. “Another game he had to handle pressure well and he got his first goal of the year on a great heads-up play. We had great ball movement throughout the game and did a great job finding the open man in transition.”
Ryan Carickhoff had 4 goals and 2 assists, while Drew Ferguson scored 4 and added 1 assist. Levi Souder racked up 5 assists and scored once himself. Frank Fanelli and Matt Kriney each had 2 goals and 1 assist. Matt Seiler had a goal and an assist, Kevin Matthews and Rocco Fanelli each scored once, and Nick Marinacci recorded 1 assist.
Tyler Vandermark made 18 saves in goal for Pennridge, which improves to 7-0 National Conference, 12-1 overall. After battling the Indians, the Rams’ schedule doesn’t get any easier, as they will be back in action when they host Central Bucks West at 7:30 pm Monday in a showdown of the two unbeaten National Conference frontrunners.
Council Rock North falls to 6-2, 11-3. The Indians will play at North Penn at 3:30 pm May 2.

Central Bucks West 11, Pennsbury 4
Matt Jacobson scored the 100th goal of his career as part of a 3-goal night as Central Bucks West remained undefeated in National Conference play with an 11-4 victory over Pennsbury on Thursday.
Jacobson also won 11 of 15 faceoffs to help the Bucks move to 7-0 in conference play (12-2 overall). Austin Hahn and Alex Greenspan each scored 3 goals, while Aidan Kimberly and Joe Perry each had a goal and an assist.
Will Shandlay made 7 saves to record the win for the Bucks, who surged ahead with a 4-0 second quarter.
Mike DeZutel led Pennsbury with 2 goals. Kolby Ranniello and Jake Kalinowski each scored once, and John Curtis recorded 1 assist. Jon Vereb made 17 saves in goal, while Brad Hill went 8-for-18 on faceoffs and scooped up 4 ground balls.
West will square off against Pennridge at 7:30 pm Monday in a matchup of National Conference frontrunners sporting identical 7-0 league records. Pennsbury, which falls to 4-3, 6-5, will visit Notre Dame for a nonleague game at 3 pm Saturday.

Council Rock South 6, North Penn 5
Joey Smith scored three unanswered goals in the third quarter—part of a 5-goal game—to help lift Council Rock South to a thrilling 6-5 victory over North Penn in Thursday’s National Conference matchup.
Smith also put the Golden Hawks on the board with the game’s first goal (Conner McCaffrey assist), and tied the game at 2-2 early in the third quarter after North Penn carried a 2-1 lead into halftime.
The Knights scored the next 2 goals to take a 4-2 lead, but Smith’s trio of tallies turned the tide for the Hawks.
South defenders Thomas Gallagher, Jack Heinbach, Josh Geiger, Anthony Carey, Oren Fuchs, Andrew Mannherz, Michael Houser, and Harrison Kim helped hold the Knights scoreless from that moment on until the final seconds of the game. Goalie Billy Houser made several big saves in the second half among his 15 stops on the day.
McCaffery finished with 1 goal and 2 assists, and TJ Shores added 1 assist for the Hawks, who improve to 2-5 in National Conference play, 7-7 overall. South will visit Neshaminy at 3:30 pm Tuesday. North Penn moves to 1-7, 4-9, and will host Council Rock North at 3:30 pm Tuesday.

Central Bucks East 5, Neshaminy 0
Bennett Snyder turned aside the 5 shots he faced in goal and posted a shutout as Central Bucks East blanked Neshaminy 5-0 in Thursday’s National Conference game.
The Patriots led 1-0 after one quarter and held a 2-0 lead at the half of this low-scoring affair.
Thomas Williams led the East offense with 2 goals and 2 assists as well as 1 caused turnover. Patrick Coleman (4 CTO, 3 GB), David Crespo (1 CTO), and Ryan Atkinson (1 GB) each added 1 goal for East, which improves to 5-3 in National Conference play, 7-5 overall.
The Patriots also got contributions from Chris Funston (4 CTO, 4 ground balls) Zacary Ramey and Matthew Bowen (1 CTO, 1 GB each), Luke Christmas (1 CTO), Ethan Greenlee (4 CTO, 5 GB), David Brown (2 CTO), Tristan Smith (1 GB), and Dean Blackwell (1 CTO).
East will visit Emmaus for a nonleague tilt at 11 am Saturday, then will visit Harry S Truman at 4 pm Tuesday. Neshaminy falls to 1-7, 6-8, and will host Council Rock South at 4 pm Tuesday.

Souderton 14, Central Bucks South 3
John Martin-Vince had a hand in 9 Souderton goals with 5 scores and 4 assists as the Indians rolled past Central Bucks South 14-3 in Thursday’s National Conference game.
Tyson Bui (3 G, 1 A) and Seth Grossman (2 G, 2 A) each contributed points for Souderton, who got 2 goals from Gavin Landis, a goal and an assist each from Ty Quintos and Sean Landis, and 1 assist from Trey Bui.
Matt Malanga made 5 saves in goal, and Peyton Bannak was 10-for-21 on faceoffs and added 5 ground balls for Souderton (6-2 National Conference, 11-3 overall).
Souderton will visit St. Joseph’s Prep for a nonleague game at 6 pm Tuesday, then returns to league action against Pennsbury at 5 pm Thursday. Central Bucks South (2-5, 5-8) will visit Pennsbury at 4 pm Tuesday.

American Conference

Plymouth Whitemarsh 9, Springfield Twp 7
Plymouth Whitemarsh scored 4 goals in the first quarter and pulled out a hard-fought 9-7 win over Springfield Twp in Thursday’s American Conference game.
Peter Schmidt led Springfield with 3 goals. Matt Capoferri and Adam Fluehr each added 2 goals, while Mateo Ringgold had 2 assists.
Carter Weiss made 5 saves for the Spartans, who fall to 2-1 in the American Conference, 2-8 overall. Springfield will host conference frontrunner Upper Dublin at 3:30 pm Monday. PW improves to 3-3, 4-8, and will visit Quakertown at 6 pm Tuesday.

New Hope-Solebury 16, William Tennent 2
The New Hope Solebury Lions celebrated Senior Night with a decisive victory over the visiting Panthers. Senior Captain Malcolm Raupp led the Lions with 5 goals and reached the 100-goal milestone.
"I've had the pleasure of seeing all of Mal's 100 goals,” coach Jeff Bruemmer said. “Not only is he a great scorer, he's a terrific leader and an outstanding young man.
“The seniors stepped up and took this game over from the start. This is a special group of seniors. They were freshmen my first year here. It's been a pleasure watching them grow as lacrosse players and young men.

Also for the Lions, Colin Foster had 3 goals, Mitchell Lontchar and Chris Weisbrot had 2 goals and 1 assist each. Jesse Castellano, Trevor Donohoe, Declan Curran, Lukas Solis each tallied a goal.
The stingy Lions defense - led by seniors Franklin Phillips, Logan Minnucci, Declan Curran and Dimitri Sigrist - held the Panthers to five shots. Senior Goalie Leo Fowler had three saves.

The Lions (5-5, 3-4 SOL) travel to Cardinal O'Hara for a non-league game on Saturday.

 

Wissahickon 12, Abington 4
Kyle Lehman’s six-point game led the Trojans to the convincing conference win. The Penn State-bound senior had four goals and two assists. Andrew Slackman added three goals and one assist, Charles Stehlik contributed two goals and one assist, and Kyle Doll had two goals. Noah Stomsky added one goal and one faceoff win. Nicholas Donofrio had one assist.
Dominic Kemper had a big night at the faceoff X, winning 11 faceoffs.
Kyle Krump recorded four saves in goal for the Trojans.
Wissahickon (11-1, 7-0 SOL) will host Conestoga in a non-league match on Saturday at 10 a.m. Abington (9-5, 3-3) will be on the road at Upper Moreland on Tuesday.

Upper Dublin 13, Hatboro-Horsham 8
Will Bailey's six-point game - which included five goals and one assist - led the Flying Cardinals in Thursday's conference win over the Hatters.
Al Eby added three goals and one assist, and Ben Guagliardo had two goals and one assist. Kyle Spirt's four-point game included one goal and three assists while Caleb Kelly had one goal and two assists. Chris Kohlbrenner added one goal.
Will Hoffman and Ryan O'Sullivan combined for 12 faceoff wins.
UD coach Pat Lacon lauded the strong play of his back-up goalie – senior Brendan “Bubba” Reape. Reape was forced into action when UD’s starting goalie became ill earlier in the day and was unable to attend the game. Reape was credited with seven saves.
Upper Dublin (8-4, 5-3 SOL) is scheduled to travel to Downingtown East for a non-league game on Saturday at noon. Hatboro-Horsham (7-5, 7-2) will host Holy Ghost Prep on Monday in a non-league game.

Non-league
Quakertown 10, Harry S Truman 6
Alex Jalboot picked up 7 points on 5 goals and 2 assists to spur Quakertown to a 10-6 victory over Harry S Truman in Thursday’s crossover game.
Evan Mooney had 2 goals and 1 assist for the Panthers, who improved to 3-10 overall (2-6 American Conference). Jacob Mosser scored twice, Freddy Hipple added 1 goal, and Jacob Wackerman, David Hammond, and Jackson Lesinski each chipped in with 1 assist.
For the Tigers, Chris Glover had a hat trick to go along with eight ground balls and one caused turnover. Patrick Berkery added two goals and four ground balls while Connor Freer had one goal and five ground balls. Adrian Lopez had one assist and two ground balls while Ansumana Turay had one ace, five ground balls and 64 percent faceoff wins. Also contributing were Matt Ennis with one assist, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Chase Tuttle added three ground balls and one caused turnover while Nate Cornell had two ground balls and one caused turnover.
Goalie Tommy Bryson had 24 saves (70.5 save percentage) to go along with one ground ball and one caused turnover.
Quakertown is back in action with a 6 pm game today hosting nonleague opponent Daniel Boone. The Panthers return to league play when they host Plymouth Whitemarsh at 6 pm Tuesday. Truman (0-13, 0-8) will host Central Bucks East at 4 pm Tuesday.
