La Salle 16, Abington 8
The Ghosts found themselves staring at a 3-0 hole at the end of one quarter and still trailed 6-4 at halftime of Saturday’s non-league game at the Katie Samson Tournament. La Salle blew the game wide open with a 7-2 third-quarter burst.
Ryan Ambler and Matt Figeuroa both contributed two goals and two assists for the Ghosts. Matt Lomady scored a pair of goals while Brian Gallagher and Max Malloy each contributed a goal.
Travis O’Connor was credited with 13 saves in goal for the Ghosts. Anthony Greco and Matt Figeuroa both had seven groundballs.
North Penn 10, Lansdale Catholic 9
The Knights opened up a 4-2 lead at the end of one quarter but led by just one (5-4) at halftime of Saturday’s game against their neighboring rivals. In the third quarter, the Knights went on a 5-3 tear to go on top 10-6 before the Crusaders scored three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter.
Chris Anton, Kyle Heinig, Ryan Dwyer and Adam Wreath each scored a pair of goals for the Knights. Dwyer also had an assist. Chris Young added a goal and an assist, and Dan Kohler scored a single goal. Drew Schmitz contributed an assist.
Mike Tappen turned away 18 shots in goal for the Knights.
