ABINGTON 15, NESHAMINY 7
The Ghosts got off to a slow start and trailed the Redskins by three within the first few minutes of the opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Ghosts erased that lead, outscoring the Redskins 9-2 to take a four-goal lead into halftime (9-5).
The Ghosts were led by the efforts of an unlikely hero - Gus Greenberg. Greenberg (4 goals, 3 assist) started playing lacrosse as a freshman, then took the following two seasons off to excel on the tennis court, only to return to the lacrosse field his senior year.
“He pretty much single-handedly won the game for us,” said coach Joe Staerk. “He is a starter and he is an incredible player. The more he plays the better he gets.”
Staerk is impressed with Greenberg for a variety of reasons as an athlete, but he can’t help but sing his praises academically as well because he is a student who boasts a 4.5 GPA.
“With Gus, I always know what I’m going to get, and it’s 100 percent,” said Staerk.
Also playing key roles in the league victory for the Ghosts was Hunter Jones (3 goals), Joey Lamady (3 goals, 3 assists, 10 groundballs), Austin Pifani (2 goals, 8 groundballs), Cameron Leech (1 goal), Brian Gallagher (1 goals) and Gage Gormley (1 goal). Keeper Eric Goldsborough was credited with stopping 15 shots. The Ghosts improved their record to 4-2, 1-0 SOL.

SOUDERTON 12, PENNRIDGE 7
The Indians, according to coach Todd Pettit, finally put it all together offensively as they topped the Rams 12-7. The Big Red jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first quarter and maintained their lead at halftime with a 7-4 advantage.
“Offensively it was our best game by far,” said Pettit. “We attacked the goal with urgency, and we had a really aggressive tempo which we haven’t had until recently. We didn’t slow down, we just kept attacking.”
The Indians, who continued to add to their lead in the second half, had eight different players contribute scoring.
“We took 32 shots, and I don’t ever remember having that many shots in a game,” said Pettit. “It’s been some time since we had that kind of aggressiveness.”
Collin Asbury, a senior attackman, led Big Red’s attack with three goals and two assists.
“It’s the best game I’ve seen out of him,” said Pettit. “He was very smooth, and he finished well. He looked like he had a different speed to him, he looked confident and he has improved in the last seven games.”
According to Pettit, Nick Anderson had a big day on the face-offs, helping the Indians maintain their dominant presence.
“Nick stepped in and played offense and did well,” said Pettit. “He’s another kid who’s found a good role and he’s a stronger, tougher player. Pennridge played hard, they always do, but we were able to keep momentum.”
Keeper Remi Reeves stopped 12 shots while Cameron Trick (2 goals, 3 assists), Tyler MacDougall (2 goals, 3 assists), Rich Schultz (2 goals, 1 assist), Nick Anderson (1 goals), Colt Armstrong (1 goal, 1 assist) and Frank Cacavo (1 assist) rounded out the scoring for the Indians who evened out their SOL mark at 2-2 (4-3 overall).
Matt Brown led the Rams (0-3 SOL) offensively with three goals and one assist, followed by Stephen Puras who chipped in a pair of goals while Eric Fernandez and Alex Heimbach each added one goal.
