Central Bucks West 5, Central Bucks South 2
It was Senior Night for West at Memorial Field, and the seniors responded.
“We had contributions all over the field,” said coach Matt Coverdale. “It was a nice team effort by a lot of guys.”
Spencer Macquarrie notched three goals, while Gabe Ferrara and Johnny Kirchner pumped in single tallies.
West’s Nate Weiss and South’s Alan Eife had the only assists.
Luke Dachowski and Tyler Cliggett scored South’s lone goals.
West had a decided advantage in shots, 34-14. Bucks goalie Jake Ross had nine saves.
His Titan counterpart Ryan Kelly had 16, which drew praise from Coverdale.
“He had a great effort,” said the coach.
After a spate of mid-season injuries, the Bucks seem to be back in form again.
Coverdale is hoping a win Saturday against Penncrest will put them in contention for a playoff spot.
Hatboro-Horsham 10, North Penn 6
The seniors finished out their career with a win at Hatters Stadium.
Seniors Sean Saunders and Kevin Sweeney had big nights offensively.
Coach J.P. Banks praised the defense of Kyle Peters, Brock Mininger and Shane Wheeler, who held the Knights to just one goal heading into the fourth quarter.
“It was good to get a win against North Penn,” said Banks. “They have really improved and will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.”

Wissahickon 15, Cheltenham 2
With just one game remaining, Wissahickon is feeling good about the end of the season. The Trojans hung tough in an 8-4 loss to Upper Dublin Monday after losing to the Cards 9-1 back on April 15.
Likewise, Upper Merion doubled up Wissahickon 10-5 on April 12, but last Friday the Trojans showed how far they have come by scoring five goals in the fourth quarter to nearly upend the Vikings, falling just short 7-6.
“We’re finally getting the team together,” said coach Anthony Gabrielle. “It’s a good way to end the season doing what we’re supposed to be doing and playing disciplined and smart.”
Luke Gomez scored four goals and had two assists and Christian McCaffrey added three goals and two assists against Cheltenham.
Gabrielle praised the play of seniors A.J. Andersen (two goals) and defenseman Beau Gomez who kept the team focused through some hard times.
“They were relentless in their work ethic,” he said. “Our season was a testament to those kids.”
The Trojans play Norristown tomorrow night in the season finale. A win would give them a .500 league record (6-6).
“We’re now playing at a level that’s us,” said Gabrielle.
Upper Merion 16, Upper Moreland 4
The Vikings started out slow but hit their stride after the first quarter.
“Everybody played a solid game,” said Upper Merion coach Brady McCormick.
The coach especially praised the effort of Mikey Zadroga, who won 20 of 22 face-offs.
“He played the ball well for a freshman,” said McCormick. “I’m happy with that.”
Wes McDowell led the attack with five goals and three assists, followed by Trevor Kupecky (4g, 5a), Luc Minnich (3g, 1a), Roby Boyk (2g, 1a) and Pat Vandergeest (2g).
Conor Crowe made 10 saves in goal.
The Vikings finished their league season tied with Upper Dublin at 9-3. They have one game remaining Saturday against Great Valley.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Norristown 0
The Colonials finished their league season, not only with their first shutout of the year, but also their first American Conference title. PW was untarnished in the league, finishing at 12-0.
“It was Senior Night and we had fun,” said coach Phil Chang.
Colin Joka notched four goals and two assists, Andrew Cox had three goals and Nick Swift made three assists. Griffin Kelly, Craig Lowery and Pat McKee contributed individual tallies.
In goal Andrew Sabia stopped four shots.
PW finishes the regular season Friday against Holy Ghost before awaiting its seed for the district tournament, which opens Tuesday.
