Pennsbury 10, Council Rock North 3
The Falcons and Indians were deadlocked 1-1 at the end of one quarter, but the Falcons took a 3-1 lead into halftime and then outscored the Indians 7-2 in the second half on their way to the convincing win.
Ricky Jutkiewicz and Ryan McDonald both contributed the hat trick for the Falcons. Luke Matthews added one goal and three assists. Calvin Hopkins and Colin Sullivan both contributed a goal and an assist. Andrew Probst scored one goal. Sean Heilferty and Dan Marr both added an assist.
The Falcons held a slim 28-26 edge in shots, but the difference in the game was the 16-save effort in goal of Drew Sweetland. Nick Wisen had one save for the Falcons.
The Falcons’ defense survived a three-man down situation going into the fourth quarter with Pennsbury on top 6-2. Defenseman Dan Marr led the team with four ground balls.
Abington 15, Neshaminy 2
Ryan Ambler had a hand in eight goals, scoring two and assisting on six others. Brian Gallagher and Nick Pisko (one assist) both added the hat trick. Matt Lomady, Matt Figeuroa and Will Dulin each scored two goals. Brian Stutz scored one goal. Contributing one assist were Anthony Greco, Matt Gormely and Ryan Acuna.
The two teams battled to a scoreless draw at the end of one quarter, but the Ghosts exploded for seven second-quarter goals to seize control of the game.
Lomady led the Ghosts with 10 ground balls. Travis O'Connor and Eric Goldsborough combined for seven saves in goal with O'Connor turning away five of those shots.
Upper Merion 7, Wissahickon 6
Trevor Kupecky led the Vikings with three goals and one assist. Teammate Wes McDowell added two goals and one assist while Luc Minnich and Lorran DaCosta each added one goal. Upper Merion goalie Conor Crowe was credited with 10 saves.
Central Bucks East 19, Central Bucks South 2
The Patriots led 4-1 at the end of one quarter and extended that lead to 8-2 by halftime. An 11-0 second half propelled the Patriots to the big win.
Blake Ament had a hand in six goals to lead the Patriots, contributing three goals and three assists. Ian Gill and Chris Vetter each added the hat trick. Ethan Debuque scored a pair of goals, and Conor McSherry, Jack Tilger, Matt Heim (one assist) and Matt Brodzik (one assist) each added one goal. Ryan Whitney added a pair of assists, and Chris Schneekloth, Brandon Ament, Chris Lavin, Parker Self and Brian Garcia each had one assist.
Nick Andris was credited with four saves in goal. Central Bucks South goalie Ryan Kelly was credited with nine saves.
Pennridge 17, Souderton 12
J.P. Carroll led the Indians with three goals and four assists. Bryan Ziegler added four goals and one assist, and Tyler Macdougall scored one goal and contributed three assists. Ridge Schultz (one assist) and Tim McIlhenny both added one goal. Jake Rivera was credited with seven saves in goal for the Indians.
Upper Dublin 18, Upper Moreland 6
For the Golden Bears, Talon Blickley contributed the hat trick while Ellis Fattizzi added two goals and Steve Fleming, one goal. Andrew Benner contributed a pair of assists, and teammates Nick Nolen, Matt Foley and Ryan Christensen each had one assist.
Upper Moreland goalie Nick DeBalko was credited with 14 saves.
Cheltenham 12, Norristown 7
Sean Calhoun and Jake Naseef each contributed three goals and one assist to lead the Eagles. Kristain Angelucci added one goal.
