Central Bucks East 12, Holy Ghost Prep 2*

The Patriots jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the end of one quarter, serving early notice that they were a force to contend with. They led 6-1 at the intermission and outscored Prep 6-2 in the second half to earn the lopsided win.
“Senior Blake Ament scored our first goal, and the team never looked back,” coach Bruce Garcia said. “Every player contributed.
“Senior Sean Reilly had a great game with face-offs, and senior Weston French played very strong defense on Holy Ghost Prep attackman.”
Blake Ament, Ryan Whitney, Matt Brodzick, Chris Vetter and Warren Kuhn each contributed two goals while Ethan Debuque and Brian Garcia both added single goals. Connor McSherry had a pair of assists while Vetter, Brodzick and Eric Riva each had one assist.
In goal, East’s Sean McSherry had five saves, and Nick Andris had three saves.
The Patriots will return to action on Wednesday when they will travel to Pennsbury.
Pennsbury 6, Penncrest 2
The Falcons took a 2-0 lead at the end of one quarter but led by just a 3-1 score going into the final quarter when they outscored their hosts 3-1 in a tightly-contested game.
The Falcons were propelled to the win by their defense. Junior goaltender Drew Sweetland – who turned away nine shots - made some key stops, including a huge save when he stonewalled Penncrest attackman Andrew Caldwell with one second remaining in the first half and the Falcons clinging to a 3-1 lead.
Junior Andrew Probst led the Falcons’ attack with three goals while Josh Caven, Evan Caterson and Calvin Hopkins each added one goal. Caven also had an assist.
Central Bucks West 8, Archbishop Wood 5
Matt Adamski connected for the hat trick while Jack Firriolo and Nate Weiss each added a pair of goals and two assists for the Bucks. Kollin Keenan added a single goal, and Johnny Kirchner had an assist.
West goalie Jake Ross turned away 10 shots.
Council Rock North 9, Wissahickon 1
The Indians were led offensively by Chris Gifford and Brian Fitzpatrick, who each contributed three points. Tyler Shablin also scored a pair of goals. The Indians’ defense was led by Mark McDonald, who turned away 20 shots in a dazzling effort between the pipes.
Souderton 15, Phoenixville 4
The Indians received superb individual efforts from several players in their impressive season-opening win. Tim McIlhenny scored four goals while Bryan Ziegler contributed three goals and three assists. J.P. Carrol added three goals and two assists while Tyler Macdougall added the hat trick. Matt Markow and Ridge Schultz added one goal each for the Indians.
Grant Nice turned away six shots while Jake Rivera had four saves as the two goalkeepers split time between the pipes.
Neshaminy 7, Springfield (Montco) 2
The Redskins won for the second time in as many outings on Monday. Jimmy Roessner led a balanced attack with two goals while Andy MacDonald, Shane Quinn, John Blickle and Connor Bishop each added single goals as six players got into the scoring column. Blickle and Quinn each also had a pair of assists. Austin Transue added two assists and Dillion Richards had one assist.
The Redskins held a commanding 32-9 advantage in shots on goal. Only the 21-save effort of Springfield goalie Ben Hurclay kept the Redskins from winning by an even more lopsided score. Neshaminy goalie Austin Marshall turned away seven shots.
Roman Catholic 14, Norristown 4
Jesse Prante contributed the hat trick for the Eagles and Kristain Angelucci tallied a single goal. The Eagles fell to 0-2 on the young season.
