CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0, SOUDERTON 0
It was a day featuring five shutout performances by SOL Continental teams, although only one of those squads emerged victorious.
One hundred minutes of action were not enough to find a winner in CB West’s trip to Souderton Tuesday night. The Indians had their chances, including playing with a man advantage for part of the second half and all of overtime following a red card against the Bucks, but they were unable to beat goalie Redd Brown. CB West’s keeper pulled in six saves to keep Souderton off the scoreboard.
“We fought hard,” said Bucks coach Stefan Szygiel, who was very proud of his team’s effort in earning the draw. “We kind of stuck to the game plan.
“We were able to still muster an attack even a player down, and I think that kept the game 0-0.”
The Bucks moved to 7-4-2 on the year with the tie and 6-4-2 in the SOL Continental, while Souderton improved to 2-7-1 in league matches. Both teams are in action Wednesday with the Indians heading to CB East and the Bucks hosting Pennridge.
“They [Souderton] played very well,” said Syzgiel. “We were very disorganized tonight and we have to play better tomorrow.”

The stats were almost dead even, and the score was too. Neither the Rams nor the host Hatters, despite a combined 19 shots, were able to break through with a go-ahead goal, leading to a scoreless draw Tuesday afternoon.
Hatboro-Horsham finished with the slight edge in shots at 10-9. However, both keepers - Pennridge’s Zach Jarrett and the Hatters’ Brian Ehrlich - had seven saves to earn shutouts.
The Hatters are now 5-7-2 overall and 3-6-1 in the league, while the Rams are 3-5-2 in Continental play.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
CB South was one of several teams to have solid first half finishes on Tuesday.
With about 10 minutes to play before intermission, Dan Busichio found Danny Remick for a goal that proved to be all the Titans would need.
But they were far from finished. In the 32nd minute, Remick was at it again, this time finding Colin Fagan for a shot and score that made it 2-0. Three minutes later, Dean Helwig also found the back of the net on a play set up by Brian Davis to create the final margin.
Matt Weigner earned his sixth shutout of the year in net for the Titans, who are now 6-4 in the SOL Continental and 9-5 overall. Quakertown slipped to 2-8 in the league with the setback and has lost seven in a row.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2, NORTH PENN 1
Dylan McMahon scored a first half goal to send the Knights into halftime with a 1-0 lead, but the Patriots rallied to earn an important win that avenged an early season loss to the Knights. The win was the seventh in a row in league play for the first place Patriots.
“North Penn outplayed us drastically in the first half,” East coach Mike Gorni said. “They were really good.
“Dylan McMahon beat a player and shot from outside the box. It was a very good shot.”
The Knights may have owned the first half, but the tables were turned in the second half.
“In the second half, we came out with energy,” Gorni said. “We switched and put Ryan Gleason up top, and he just made a big difference in how we were attacking and coming in and created some things.”
In the 14th minute of the second half, Kyle Clow turned a pass from Brian Gilligan into the equalizer, taking a high ball from wide that fell inside the box, bringing it down off his chest and hitting a volley past the keeper.
With 17 minutes remaining, Ryan Gleason turned a penalty kick into the game winner. The Patriots were awarded the PK when Gleason, who got behind a pair of defenders, was taken down in the box.
The Patriots (10-3 overall) are 8-2 in league play after a 1-2 start.
“We had back-to-back 1-0 losses to CB West and North Penn, and to win seven straight games in this league is very hard,” Gorni said. “It hasn’t always been pretty, but we got it done, so at least for one more day we stay in first place.”
Central Bucks East will host Souderton on Wednesday at 3:30 at War Memorial Field while North Penn (9-2-2, 3-6-1 SOL) will travel to Quakertown.

Plymouth Whitemarsh’s only league loss this season came as a result of a comeback in the second half by Upper Dublin.
On Tuesday afternoon at Wissahickon, the Colonials returned the favor against another SOL American opponent. They fell behind 1-0 on what could have been a killer goal late in the first half, but rallied to pull off a 2-1 victory and remain on track for a chance at a league title.
