Central Bucks East 3, Central Bucks West 2 (16-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11)
In an exciting match between the neighboring rivals, Central Bucks East earned the dramatic win.
A key to the win, according to coach Rob Minschwaner, was the Patriots’ standout defense. Trevor Clemens and Mike Donovan led the way with 16 and 20 digs respectively. Donovan added three aces.
Offensively, the Patriots were led by Jeff Wolf with 13 kills and Nick Bennett, who had 11 kills and eight digs. Setter Kyle Dolf handed out 26 assists and added seven digs and four kills.
North Penn 3, Upper Dublin 0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20)
Andy Willits led the Knights at the net with 12 kills while Chris Davidson added nine and Jake Sisko, six kills. Evan Thompson contributed four kills and six blocks. Setter Matt Elias had 24 assists to go along with three aces and three blocks. Mark Kim led the defense with six digs.
Souderton 3, Cheltenham 0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-23)
Trevor Bishop contributed nine kills and seven digs to lead the Indians. Chris Kluka added eight kills and three blocks, and Cody Leatherman had seven kills. Senior Christian Benner led the defense with 15 digs.
William Tennent 3, Central Bucks South 0 (25-23, 25-17, 27-25)
Nick Gross and Logan Cloak led the Panthers in their season opener with five kills each while Zac Puglisi led the defense with eight digs.
