Quakertown 3, Central Bucks West 1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-13, 25-19)
The Panthers picked up an important win at home on Thursday night, downing the Bucks in four games and evening their record at 5-5 in league play.
Nate Stout dished out 48 assists to lead Quakertown’s balanced attack. Four hitters finished the game with double-digit kills – Zach Morgan (16), Ian Jones (13), Ryan Mease (12) and Spencer Gysi (11).
The defense, according to coach Andy Snyder, was anchored by the strong play of Mitch Bard and Nate Smith. Leading the Panthers’ serving game were Nick Grossov and Spencer Gysi.
“Tonight was definitely a team effort,” Snyder said.
Central Bucks East 3, Cheltenham 1 (25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19)
Nick Bennett led East’s attack with 19 kills, and Jeff Wolf added 11 kills. Kyle Dolf had 43 assists, two kills and four blocks. Mike Donovan excelled on defense, picking up 15 digs while serving four aces.
