The Rams did a whole lot of things right in Saturday’s state quarterfinal match, battling the Warriors to the final point before falling just short.
The two teams took turns winning sets, and after both teams won two sets, it was the Warriors edging the Rams by just two points in the winner-take-all fifth set.
“We were right there,” Pennridge coach Dave Childs said. “It could have gone either way.
“Bryce (Ammon) was dominant at the net like usual. The whole team did a great job battling.”
Ammon led the Rams at the net, finishing with 22 kills and 10 digs. Jude Rotonodo also had a big game, adding 19 kills and four blocks. Aaron Ladd contributed eight kills, three blocks and two aces, Logan Jalosinski had seven kills, 10 digs, four blocks and two aces, and Chris Cullen added seven kills and six blocks. Ethan Vo finished with eight digs.)
Pennridge closed out its season with an 18-3 record and a fifth place finish in Pennsylvania.
