Central Bucks East wins Red Rover Invitational
The Patriots rolled to a 7-1 record in pool play. They swept Dallas, Northern Pocono and Easton and split their match with Liberty. After receiving a first round playoff bye, the Patriots defeated Red Lion in the best-of-three semifinals (25-21, 25-20). In the title match, the Patriots faced an undefeated Northampton squad, dropping the first set 24-26 and then winning the next two, 25-19, 15-12.
East, according to coach Rob Minschwaner, played great defense all day with an average team passer rating of 2.49 for the tournament. Standout players for East included Nick Bennett, who had a team-high 61 kills and also had nine digs, seven blocks and four aces. Bennett earned a spot on the all-tournament team. Kyle Dolf contributed 42 kills, 49 assists, five digs and a team-high 15 aces. Trevor Clemens led East with 71 assists and added 18 kills, five digs and four aces. Steve Caucci added eight kills and 4.5 blocks while Colby Tallia had seven digs and three aces. Anchoring East’s defense was libero Mike Donovan with 12 digs, three assists and four aces. Sophomore Henry Mallison had five kills.

Pennridge ties for fourth at Hempfield Black Knight Joust Tournament
The Rams compiled a 7-1 record in pool play, good enough for second place in their pool. The Rams swept Susquehannock (25-16, 25-18), Governor Mifflin (25-17, 25-15) and Carlisle (25-14, 25-21) and split with Hempfield (15-25, 26-25). Pennridge defeated Chambersburg 25-22 in the first round of the playoffs but fell to Exeter in the semifinals (15-10, 8-15, 13-15).

CB West ties for fourth at Hempfield Black Knight Joust Tournament
The Bucks finished second in their pool with a 5-3 record after splitting with Hershey, Chambersburg and Souderton and sweeping Exeter. In the first round of the playoffs, West defeated Cumberland Valley 25-22 and then lost to Wilson in the second round (15-8, 15-16, 13-15), finishing tied for fourth in the 15-team field.

Souderton advances to playoffs in Hempfield Black Knight Joust Tournament
The Indians struggled in pool play, but thanks to their split with CB West in their final match, they earned a spot in the playoffs. In a first round playoff match, the Indians matched Hempfield point for point until Hempfield went on a seven-point run to close out the game and earn a 25-17 win.
Tim Jones led the Indians with 30 kills while Levi Schneck led the defense with 20 digs.

The Panthers opened their season on Friday with a sweep of Central. Statistical leaders for the Panthers were:

Brett Mayne – 7 kills, 10 digs
Donald Le – 4 aces, 14 digs
Sam Spector – 5 aces
Ben Doyle – 5 kills, 4 blocks
Mike Lee – 23 assists

Neshaminy 3, Central Bucks South 0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-10)
Leaders for the Redskins in Friday’s sweep of the Titans were:
Chase Fullen – 25 assists, 3 kills, 1 block
Zach McGowan – 15 kills (.600 hitting percentage), 1 ace, 1 block
Ryan Jamison – 10 kills (.467 hitting percentage), 4 aces, 4 blocks, 6 digs
Steve Stressman – 2 kills, 4 blocks
Wes Roy – 4 aces, 5 digs
