NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-27, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18)

The visiting Redskins dropped a hard fought opening set but rallied to win the next three.

Setter Josh Adler handed out 37 assists to go along with five digs, two blocks and one ace. Josh Clendening led a balanced Redskin attack with 11 kills and also had nine digs and two blocks. Dan Berzin had eight kills, five digs and one ace, Kieran Edwards had eight kills and two blocks, and Josh Hamilton also had eight kills and two blocks. Ben Clendening finished with six kills and five blocks. Michael Sooby led the defense with 10 digs and also had an assist. John Nice had one ace and two digs.

For the Panthers, setter Paul Nedeoglo had 36 assists and two blocks. Jack Steilen (13 kills, 3 aces, 3 blocks) and Jay Layer (11 kills, 1 ace, 15 digs, 1 block) led the Panthers at the net. Layer also was a catalyst on defense. Also coming up big on defense were Anthony Buono (8 digs), Cody Keeny (9 digs) and Joseph Vasilevskiy (3 kills, 11 digs). Connor Fleming (5 kills), Michael Catelli (2 kills, 2 blocks) and Kirby Mooney (5 kills, 1 block) also made contributions.

Neshaminy (2-0, 1-0 SOL) will host Bensalem on Thursday, and William Tennent (2-1, 1-1) will be on the road at Pennsbury on Thursday.

 

BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0

The Owls evened their record at 1-1 on the young season, earning a sweep of the visiting Golden Hawks.

The Owls were led by Jack Wineburg’s eight kills and one block.  Shiv Parekh (5 kills 2 aces 2 blocks), Bruce Bell (3 kills), Jeremy Rodriguez (5 kills 2 aces), and Parth Patel (3 kills) also contributed big plays at the net.  The offense was run by Ricky Patel (11 assists) and Ohm Patel  (9 assists) Arjun Patel (5 aces) and Rohan Patel played well in the back for Bensalem.  Nick Reis, Kush Patel, and Jahaan Patel also stepped up big and made key plays off the bench.  

The Owls (1-1) next play at Neshaminy on Thursday, and Council Rock South (0-1) will host Cheltenham on Thursday.

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-6, 25-11, 25-19)

Sparked by a strong service game, the Indians rolled to a sweep of the Panthers.

Jack DePalo led the way with seven aces to go along with five digs, and Keertan Palayam added five aces, six kills and four digs.

Council Rock North (2-0) will host Abington on Thursday, and Cheltenham (0-2) will be on the road at Council Rock South on Thursday.

SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 (25-21, 20-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-8)

The visiting Indians rallied from a 2-1 deficit to notch the hard earned conference win.

“On a night where we were struggling to find our rhythm, we came together as a team and figured out a way to get it done,” Souderton coach Luke Pinto said. “I’m very proud of the resilience of the guys.”

Nate Brown (14 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces) and Andrew Brown (15 kills) came up huge for the Indians.

The Patriots were led by Matt LaBouliere (20 assists, 8 kills, 3 aces), AJ Helveston (11 kills), and Pat Haurin (5 kills). Josh Lyzimski was having a huge night (9 kills, 2 aces, a dig) before having to leave the match with an injury. Ryan Coxey helped guide the offense, picking up 16 assists. Defensively, East leaders included Aiden Leichter (6 kills, 3 aces) and Steve DiRugeris. Other key contributors included Reid Miller (3 kills, 2 aces, 3 digs) and Andrew Perillo (4 kills, 1 block).

Souderton (2-0 SOL) will host Upper Dublin on Thursday, and Central Bucks East (1-2, 1-1 will be on the road at North Penn on Thursday.

 

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0

The Rams rolled to a sweep of the Titans for their second win of the young season.

Setter Riley Kodidek had 26 assists, three aces and four blocks. Making contributions at the net were Nick Smith (8 kills, 2 blocks), Tyler Johnson (6 kills, 3 blocks), Jude Rotondo (6 kills, 3 aces), Thomas McKinney (4 kills, 7 digs), Jason McCreary (2 kills) and Gavin Stayer (2 kills). Alex Derk led the defense with 13 digs while Gavin Tirjan had six.

For the Titans, senior Joe Sciscio had a good all-around match with one ace, three kills, three digs and combined for three blocks. Sophomore setter Sam Snyder had 10 assists. Sophomore outside hitter Ben Grove led the offense with four kills, and sophomore Will Tantum led the defense with seven digs.

Pennridge (2-0) will host Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (0-2) will host Cheltenham on Thursday.

 

UPPER DUBLIN 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19)

The Flying Cardinals picked up their second win in as many matches, notching a sweep of the visiting Panthers.

Benjamin Dorsey (12 kills, 1 ace), Landon Kullmann (11 kills) and Terrell Turner (10 kills, one ace) proved to be a formidable trio at the net. Setter David Levin had seven kills in addition to 21 assists and two aces, and Ari Weiner added five kills. Cole Brown had 13 assists.

For the Panthers, Zander Marks had five kills and two blocks, Kevin Richwine contributed four kills, Michael Reinford had three kills, and Andrew Sturgess had one. Setter Cody Steiert had 14 assists to go along with one kill, one ace and one block.

Upper Dublin (2-1, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Souderton on Thursday, and Quakertown (0-2) will host Central Bucks South.

 

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-15)
