SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-11-18)

PENNSBURY 3, ABINGTON 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17)
The Falcons used a balanced and efficient attack at the net to earn a sweep of the Ghosts.
Justin Sadley led the way with 11 kills (.400 hitting percentage), three aces, one dig and three blocks. Danny Quay added eight kills (.583) and three blocks, and Luke Bucksar had six kills (.455) and one block. Brett Garretson contributed seven kills, one assist, two aces and 13 digs. Setter Andy Delworth handed out 33 assists to go along with one kill, one ace and 11 digs. Charlie Bluestein had two assists, three aces and one dig. Matt Caissie had one ace and one dig.
The Ghosts received major defensive contributions from Sean Dougherty (13 digs), Charlie Viola (six digs), Danny Gonzalez (five digs) and Jacob Barndt (four digs). Jason Lockhart, TJ Dougherty and Juan Perez all registered a solo block while Danny Gonzalez had 10 kills and Josh Harkins added four.

SOUDERTON 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-18)
The Indians improved to 5-1 in league play with their sweep of the Panthers.
“We came in after a tough loss on Monday and were able to keep positive and pull out the first set 25-23,” coach Dave Stastny said. “We were able to keep momentum and finish the match with a good team effort.”
Ben Campman led the Indians with 10 kills and Matt O’Neil had five. Luke Pagan had 12 assists and four aces, and Jared Martin led the team with 14 digs.
For the Panthers, Logan Spieker had 14 kills and four digs, and Josh Moyer added seven kills and four digs. Nathan Barkholz had three kills and six digs. Zach Frei (20 assists) and Justin Flor (seven assists) shared setting duties.

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-17, 25-18, 19-25, 25-23)
The Rams used a balanced attack to earn their fifth win in six outings this season.
David Cassel led the Rams with six kills and 11 digs while Zach Detweiler had five kills. Chris McKinney (four kills, seven digs), Danny Rutter (three kills) and Ryan Benscoter (three kills) also contributed at the net. Ethan Lionetti (12 digs) and Jeremy Pruss (15 digs) anchored the defense. Lionetti also had four kills.
For the Titans, setter Andrew Rubas had 22 assists, three aces, four kills, two blocks and six digs. The middles, according to coach Matt Ehlers, played consistently with Jack Hertkorn recording three blocks and four kills and Aidan O’Brien adding three kills and three blocks. Jake Monson led the offense with 10 kills. He also had one ace, one block and four digs. Mason Zeo led the defense with 11 digs and two aces, and Jon Zonshein helped the defense with nine digs.

NESHAMINY 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-23)
The Redskins avenged a loss to the Owls, earning the sweep in Wednesday’s rematch.
Ben McGonagle (10 kills, one block, one ace), Alex Swiderski (11 kills, eight digs) and Steve Wenderlich (nine kills, three blocks, five aces, six digs) led the Redskins at the net. Tony Camillo (five kills, two blocks) and Jesse Marshall (three kills, one block) also contributed. Setter JD Palmieri had 23 assists to go along with two aces and three digs. Matt Schwab added one block and two digs.
For the Owls, Ethan Fan, according to coach Tim Linehan, had a great all-around game, finishing with six kills, two assists, two aces and three blocks. Shiv Patel (seven kills) and Basheer Ghafary (18 assists, six kills) also played well.

NORTH PENN 3, CHELTENHAM 0
Setter Ryan Stewart spread the ball around in Wednesday’s sweep of the Panthers that saw no Knight finish with more than three kills. He finished with 18 assists, two digs and one ace. Making contributions were Colin Heng (five digs, one kill), Manav Patel (four aces, two kills, two digs), Luke Yoder (three kills, 10 digs), Matt Franco (one kill, two digs), Tyler Stevenson (one ace, three kills), Rudra Pandit (one ace, two kills) and Jamie Stewart (three kills, three digs).

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0 (25-12, 25-5, 25-19)
Eli Gibson and George Vicente each had six kills to lead a balanced West attack. Vicente matched his kill total with six blocks. Both Vicente and Gibson also had four digs. Jason Miller had six digs and six assists. Adam Klapper had 12 assists and nine digs, and Cole Nagle contributed three kills and five digs.
