In Wednesday’s sweep of the Knights, East was led at the net by Carter Haban, who collected seven kills, four blocks, one ace and two digs. Dylan Colbert also registered seven kills and added three aces. Karl Bandlow, Christian Bennett and Andrew Bennett also had strong outings, combining for five kills and six blocks. Once again directing the offense was setter Mason Miller, who dished out 19 assists and also had a block. Liam Creeden anchored a stellar defense, picking up four digs.
For the Knights, Kevin Seipt had three kills, and Drew Coles had six assists.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, QUAKERTOWN 2 (19-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-12)
The Flying Cardinals displayed remarkable resiliency, battling back from a two sets to none deficit to earn the hard fought win.
Albert Sungenis had a monster game for the Cards, finishing with 28 kills, 20 digs and one ace. Mario Petushi had nine kills and three digs, Michael Cummins had eight kills, 13 digs, one block and one ace, and Blake Bayles added seven kills and one block. Setter Jose Palomeque had 44 assists, 18 digs, three aces and three kills in a standout effort. Brandon Choi added 13 digs, one ace and four assists, and Brandon Dolan had nine digs. Ryan Howie added 10 assists and four digs.
For the Panthers, Logan Spieker had a huge game of his own, finishing with 21 kills and 12 digs. Justin Flor added 10 kills, four digs and four blocks, and Josh Moyer had 14 kills, seven digs and one ace. Setter Drew Stout handed out 35 assists and also had four digs, two blocks and one ace. Zac Mahler’s 18 digs led the defense. Also contributing were Ben Ocamb (one kill, six digs) and Kevin Steich (one kill, one block).
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-21)
The visiting Bucks earned a sweep of their neighboring rival.
“While we stayed competitive, this was the first match this season we have lost in straight sets,” South coach Matt Ehlers said. “We knew coming in this would be a tough match, and we weren’t able to get into a good rhythm today.”
Leading the Titans were setter Mark Macios (two blocks, 17 assists, two digs), middle Justin Koren (six kills, three blocks, seven digs) and middle Joe Karn (two aces, five kills, two blocks). Libero David Lulko led the defense with 11 digs.
NESHAMINY 3, CHRISTOPHER DOCK 0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-19)
The Redskins rolled to a sweep of the Pioneers in a non-league match.
“We came out ready to play,” coach Pat Klingerman said. “We had a balanced offense with strong defense and limited our errors.
“It was an all-around team victory.”
Shaun Kelly came up big at the net, finishing with 16 kills, two blocks and five digs. Tommy Edwards added eight kills, two digs and two blocks while Anthony Verrecchio had nine kills, two aces and one dig. Ben McGonagle added five kills, two blocks and one ace. Tim Stressman had six blocks.
Steve Wenderlich led the defense with 17 digs, two assists and two aces. Setter Miguel Montalvo had 32 assists, one kill and one block. Also contributing were Alex Swiderski (two assists), Tony Camillo (two blocks), Eric Clayton (two kills, one dig), Eric Rottaveel (two digs), Alberto Shen (one dig, one kill) and Markus Mueller (one dig.

SOUDERTON 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-23)
The Indians rolled to a sweep of the Crusaders in their first non-league action of the season.
“We played with a total team effort,” coach Dave Stastny said. “We had good serve receive and defense, which allowed us to stay in system throughout the match.
“Everyone stayed focused on the play, and we were able to win the match.”
Mike Pagan led the team with 10 kills and four aces. Setter Luke Pagan had 15 assists and four aces. Ben Campman led the defense with nine digs, and Jimmie Wert had three digs.
