Sparked by the standout effort of Justin Burns at the net, the Indians earned a sweep of the visiting Patriots in a non-league match Monday.
Burns led the Indians with 20 kills, seven digs and three blocks. Brady Klein added eight kills, four digs, three assists and one ace. Setter Dylan Vanschaick handed out 19 assists and also had three aces and five digs. Geoff Sandhanamudi split the setting duties with Vanschaick, finishing with 11 assists and four digs. Martin Nguyen led the defense with 16 digs as well as three assists and one ace. CJ Horan added six kills, two blocks and three digs.
Leading East were Matt LaBouliere with seven kills, 14 digs, three aces and one block, Trevor Seestedt with six kills, Liam Ostrander with 20 assists, one block and three digs, and Joshua Lyzinski with four kills and four blocks. Aiden Leichter picked up 15 digs and added one kill, and AJ Helveston was credited with three kills and three digs. Other key contributors included Pat Hauren and Reid Miller who added an ace and two kills.
