SOL National Conference
ABINGTON 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-23, 20-25, 27-25, 25-11)
The Ghosts – in their final home match of the season – celebrated Senior Night with a hard fought win over the visiting Panthers.
Danny Gonzalez had a big night for the Ghosts, finishing with 23 kills, 11 digs and four aces. Juan Perez had eight kills and six blocks while Mario Colavita finished with four kills and a block. Setter Toulant Kurti had 31 assists, 10 digs and two blocks, and Ross Armon had six digs, three aces and five assists. Junior Edourd had five blocks and three kills. Kenny Wasekanes had 16 digs and two kills, and Sean Doughtery finished the night with 34 digs.
Abington (5-5, 4-4 SOL) will be on the road at Council Rock North next Tuesday. William Tennent is 3-3 in conference play, 5-3 overall.
PENNSBURY 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-14)
The Falcons maintained their stronghold on the conference’s top spot with a win over their neighboring rival.
Justin Sadley had a big night for the Falcons, finishing with 16 kills, two aces, six digs and three blocks. Jake Loerch (nine kills, nine digs, three blocks), Sebastian Kloda (seven kills, .583, two blocks) and Luke Bucksar (seven kills, one ace, seven digs, one block) also made important contributions at the net. Setter Andy Delworth dished out 39 assists to go along with three digs, two kills and one block. Nathan Sadley had three kills and four blocks, Joe Martell contributed two aces, and Matt Caissie contributed two assists, one ace and eight digs.
For the Redskins, Tony Camillo led the way at the net with nine kills to go along with one ace, three digs and one block. Paul Allen had two kills and one dig, and Matt Schwab added one kill and two digs. Jesse Marshall had one ace and one block. Setter Nick Storz had 11 assists, four kills and two digs. Jesse Kovaschetz finished with four digs.
Pennsbury upped it record to 7-0 in conference play, 7-1 overall. Neshaminy is 6-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
BENSALEM 3, CHELTENHAM 0
SOL American Conference
NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
The Knights used a balanced attack to defeat the Bucks in four sets.
Michael Wang (10 kills, one ace, two blocks, seven digs), Evan Rothmann (10 kills, one ace, one block, four digs), Kevin Abraham (nine kills, one ace, six blocks, five digs) and Zach Jayes (five kills, seven blocks, two digs) led the Knights at the net. Setter Drew Coles dished out 32 assists to go along with five digs, two aces and four blocks. Also contributing were Manav Patel (two kills, two blocks, three digs), Ryan Stewart (nine digs), James Stewart (six digs), John Maggi (three digs) and Luke Yoder (two kills).
North Penn improved to 4-3 in SOL play (5-3 overall) while Central Bucks West is 3-4 in the league.
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-18)
Central Bucks East upped its conference record to 6-0 (10-0 overall) with a sweep of the visiting Titans.
The Patriots were led by the dynamic duo of Dylan Colbert (16 kills, nine digs) and Jacob LaBouliere (13 kills, 12 digs). Thomas Gallagher-Teske (four kills, six blocks) and Christian Wolf (three kills, five blocks, one dig) were strong in the middle, and Ryan Figus played great defense, picking up 14 digs. The offense was conducted by Steve Storm, who added 34 assists and eight digs. Other key contributors for East included Jack Miller (seven digs, one ace, four blocks, and two kills), CJ Dalby (four digs, three blocks, two kills), Shawn Lampke and Jack Zapf.
For the Titans, Aidan O’Brien led the offense with 10 kills, two blocks, three digs and one ace. Mason Zeo led the defense with 10 digs to go along with three blocks and four kills. Jonathan Zonshein provided seven assists and also had five digs and a kill.
Central Bucks South (1-5 SOL) is 3-6 overall.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-18)
The Flying Cardinals used a balanced effort to earn a sweep of the Indians.
Mario Petushi had nine kills and seven digs to lead the Cardinals at the net. Setters David Levin (18 assists, one kill, one dig) and Devin O’Brien (nine assists, three digs, two aces) combined for 27 assists. Joey Levin led the Cardinals’ service game with five aces to go along with two kills, one block, one assist and five digs. Matt Ross led the UD defense with 12 digs, three aces, one block and four digs. Taco Thompson had nine digs and one assist. Also contributing were Alec Madden (three kills, one block) and Mike Ryan (four kills, four blocks, one assist).
Upper Dublin is 8-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play while Souderton (2-5 SOL) is 4-7 overall.
PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-19)
The Rams received seven or more kills from four players in their sweep of the Panthers.
Ethan Lionetti (nine kills, 11 digs), Ryan Benscoter (eight kills, two blocks), Austin Jaloskinski (eight kills, three blocks) and Danny Rutter (seven kills, four aces) led the balanced Pennridge attack. Matt McCreary added five kills while Tommy Cassel had eight digs and two aces. Setter Zach Vaneman had 33 assists and two aces. Chris McKinney had five digs.
For the Panthers, Justin Flor led the way with six kills and one block. Cameron Cronk added three kills and one ace, and Zach Frei had two aces and five assist. Ryan DiCandilo added four blocks, two kills and two aces, and Ty Fosbenner had four assists and one block.
Pennridge is 5-3 overall, 5-2 in conference play while Quakertown (0-7 SOL) is 1-7 overall.
