SOL American Conference
UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
The Flying Cardinals used a balanced attack to defeat the visiting Patriots.
Cory Pendleton led the way with 10 kills, two aces, five digs and one block while Gabe Copley added eight kills. Terrell Turner (6 kills, 2 blocks), Landon Kullmann (5 kills, 2 aces, 6 digs, 1 block) and Seamus Frayne (5 kills, 2 blocks) also made important contributions. Setter Cole Brown had 32 assists to go along with one kill, two aces and seven digs.
The Patriots were once again led by Matt LaBouliere who amassed 11 kills, nine assists, and 11 digs. Other contributors included Pat Haurin with four kills, A.J. Helveston with three kills, three aces, a block, and six digs, Reid Miller two kills, two digs, and Liam Donnelly with two kills. Defensively, the Patriots were led by Aiden Leichter with 18 digs, and Brady Colbert with four digs and one kill, while Ryan Coxey contributed 10 assists, one ace, and four digs. Sean Figus added a dig and Rhys Marshall added three assists and a dig. Ryan Coxey directed the attack and dished out 19 assists and getting four digs. Ethan Scott added a block and a dig.
Upper Dublin (7-2, 6-2 SOL) will travel to Pennridge on Tuesday, and Central Bucks East (5-4, 5-3) will be on the road at North Penn Tuesday.
Non-league
NESHAMINY 3, WHITEHALL 2 (26-24, 19-25, 22-25, 25-12, 15-13)
The Redskins rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the last two sets in the tightly contested five-set non-league match.
“Yet another five-set match for our third in a row, but it was great to get back into the win column against a tough Whitehall team in non-conference play,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “Looking forward to riding this momentum and seeing where that propels our team. Back at home tomorrow for a tough matchup against Pennsbury who beat us in five at their place last time."
John Nice (18 kills, 2 aces, 2 digs, 1 block, 1 assist) and Brandon Sloskey (14 kills, 3 digs, 1 block) proved to be double trouble for Whitehall at the net. Setter El-Mansu Sagalive handed out 44 assists and also had two kills, five digs and three blocks. Toby Kovaschetz led the defense with 11 digs and one assist.
Also contributing for the Redskins were (Beknazar Baiyshbekov (3 aces, 4 kills, 5 digs, 1 block), Chase Nuttall (3 kills, 1 block), Aiden Hastings (4 kills, 1 dig, 5 blocks), Jackson Young (4 kills, 5 blocks), Ruhan Jaikaria (4 digs, 2 assists) and Jake Giuliana (1 dig).
Neshaminy (6-4, 4-3 SOL) will host Pennsbury on Tuesday.
BENSALEM 3, AVON GROVE 0
Bensalem defeated Avon Grove for its 10th straight win of the season.
Vraj Patel had a strong game in the middle for the Owls with six kills and two blocks. Veer Patel (25 assists) ran a balanced offense to Parth Patel (7 kills 2 blocks), Dev Patel (7 kills 1 ace 8 digs), and Jahaan Patel (4 kills 2 blocks). Libero Rohan Patel had 15 digs to pace the defense.
Bensalem (10-1, 6-1 SOL) plays at Cheltenham Tuesday.
SOUDERTON 3, LOWER MERION 0
The Indians rolled to a sweep of the visiting Aces in non-league action Monday.
Nate Brown led the Indians with 12 kills and seven digs. Justin Doppler added seven kills, six digs and three aces. Ian Nice led the Indians’ service game with seven aces, and Giovanni Iervolino added two kills and three blocks. Setter Levi Leatherman handed out 22 assists.
Souderton (4-6, 3-4 SOL) will be on the road at Quakertown on Tuesday.
EMMAUS 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0
The Bucks fell to perennial power Emmaus in a non-league match.
For the Bucks, Cooper Tyksinski and Oliver Hu both had six kills. Dean Nguyen added five kills. Caleb Woodring led the defense with six digs, and setter Liam Boyle had 16 assists.
Central Bucks West (4-7, 2-5 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Tuesday.
