Check out the recaps for SOL boys’ volleyball teams in action Thursday.
SOL American Division
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 17-25)
After losing to the Bucks earlier this season (1-3), the Titans returned the favor, defeating West at home in four sets.
“It was a night of stats for South,” Titans’ coach Dave Schlosser said.
Setters Gavin Roth and Sam Snyder had incredible nights with 24 and 22 assists respectively. They both also tallied 14 digs in the match, and Roth, a junior setter, added 10 kills for a volleyball triple-double. Ben Grove added 25 kills,15 digs and three blocks in a huge performance.
“He is seemingly back to his first team all-league form from last season,” Schlosser said of Grove.
Middles Brody Cocca and William Nothum both had fantastic outings with 10 kills each and controlled the net play with their blocking.
"They have been so consistent this season,” Schlosser said. “They truly seem unstoppable at times."
Libero Zeke Gift topped his performance from earlier in the week with 20 digs and a lot of great passing and defense.
"This was truly the first match of the season where we played as one,” Schlosser said. “They really put it together tonight. Sam and Gavin played some of their best volleyball of the season, and everyone on the floor contributed to the win.
“Junior Jake Sciscio might have put us over the edge with four kills and two blocks that we sorely needed to win some very tight sets against a great opponent. We have a close connection with all the Central Bucks teams. Many of the boys play club volleyball together, and many of us were their coaches.
“I will greatly miss the three senior players from West I've had the pleasure to occasionally work with - Liam Boyle, Dean Nguyen and Cooper Tysinski. These are really great young men, and we wish them well."
