SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-21-17)

PENNRIDGE 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19)
Ben Chinicci (16 kills, seven digs, four blocks) and Cross Edwards (13 kills, 10 digs) led the Rams to a sweep of the Knights. Mike Molettiere (five kills, three digs), Kevin Jones (five kills, two blocks) and Zach Detwiler (two kills, two blocks) also made contributions at the net. Setter Corey Quaste had 33 assists, two aces and five digs. Ethan Lionetti had eight digs.
For the Knights, Alex Stoler had six kills, one ace and three digs. Bobby Dean added six kills and two digs. Manan Patel led the defense with 10 digs, and setter Ryan Ko had 14 assists and seven digs.

NESHAMINY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 1 (25-21, 25-21, 16-25, 25-19)
The Redskins earned a hard fought win over the Panthers.
“William Tennent continued to fight the whole entire match, a true credit to their players and coaches,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “We were just able to pull away late in each set to earn a hard fought victory.”
Shaun Kelly (11 kills, four digs, one ace) and Tommy Edwards (12 kills, four digs, one block, one ace) led the Redskins. Tim Stressman (five kills, one block) and Steve Wenderlich (six kills, six digs, one block) also stepped to the fore. Steve Reich anchored the defense with 12 kills, and setter Miguel Montalvo had 28 assists, five digs and one kills. Also contributing were Anthony Verrecchio (one block), Ben McGonagle (two kills, one block), and Eric Rotteveel (two kills, one dig, eight assists).
For the Panthers, Brendan Carter (16 kills, one block) and Joe Ferrell (14 kills, two aces, three blocks) had big nights at the net. Andrey Zhurbich led the defense with 17 digs. Setter Ethan Sklut ahd 39 assists. Matt Berndlmaier added two kills and two blocks.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, UPPER DUBLIN 0
The Patriots were led by setter Mason Miller who racked up 26 assists, eight digs, four blocks, a kill, and an ace. The dynamic duo of Carter Haban and Dylan Colbert collected 12 and 13 kills respectively. Haban added two aces, four blocks, and two digs, while Colbert earned three aces, two blocks, and six digs.
East's defense was anchored by Liam Creedon with 14 digs. Other notable contributions were made by Colton Wurz (two blocks), Karl Bandlow (one kill, one dig, one assist, and four blocks), Andrew Bennett (two kills, two blocks, and a dig), Christian Wolf (three kills, a dig, an ace, and three blocks), Trent Henkels with a kill, and Steve Storm (one kill, one block, and five digs).

SOUDERTON 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-22)
The Indians rolled to a sweep of the visiting Panthers.
“It was a good team effort,” coach Dave Stastny said. “We had good team chemistry in the first set and were able to maintain it throughout the match.”
Brett Cornman led the Indians with five kills. Luke Pagan had 19 assists and six aces.

ABINGTON 3, UNIONVILLE 0
The Ghosts earned a sweep of the Indians in a non-league match.
Daniel Gonzalez had a big game at the net, finishing with 15 kills to go along with six digs and four aces. Setter Ronnie Fishbein had 24 assists, and Gary Massey added five kills. TJ Dougherty led the defense with seven digs.
