SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-24-17)

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1
Mason Miller directed the East attack, dishing 34 assists while adding two kills and four blocks. Carter Haban contributed 15 kills, three aces and two blocks, and Dylan Colbert added 12 kills, five aces and a dig. Christian Wolf tallied four kills and four blocks.
Team leaders for South included setter Mark Macios (three aces, four kills, four blocks, 26 assists, five digs), middle Justin Koren (four aces, 12 kills, six blocks, three assists, 11 digs), outside hitter Mason Zeo (eight kills, seven digs, one assist), outside hitter Tim White (four kills, three blocks, two digs) and opposite Jake Monson (six kills, one block, three digs).
“This was a tough match, and unfortunately, we had a few more errors in each game that East capitalized on and controlled the momentum,” South coach Matt Ehlers said.

PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-22)
Josiah Friesen handled setting duties for the Rams in Monday’s win, finishing with 37 assists and three blocks. Ben Chinicci continued to make his presence felt since his return to the lineup, finishing with 20 kills, 16 digs and four blocks. Cross Edwards had another big match, adding 16 kills and 20 digs. Also contributing were Zach Detweiler (six kills, seven blocks), Kevin Jones (five kills, two blocks) and Ethan Lionetti (13 digs).
For the Panthers, Logan Spieker had 14 kills and 10 digs while Justin Flor added seven kills and one block. Josh Moyer had four kills, three aces and two blocks. Zac Mahler anchored the defense with 21 digs, and setter Drew Stout had 22 assists.
Pennridge (6-4, 6-3 SOL) will host Parkland on Tuesday night.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (29-27, 25-17, 25-22)
The Bucks eked out a win in the opening set and went on to win the next two to earn the sweep.
“We knew this would be a tough match for us,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “We played hard but were unable to get momentum when it counted. CB West played a good match.”
Mike Pagan led the Indians with 11 kills. Luke Pagan had 34 assists.

BENSALEM 3, ABINGTON 1 (25-23, 25-18, 19-25, 25-22)
The Owls – sparked by a strong defensive effort - picked up their second win in conference play.
Philip Bui led the Owls’ attack with nine kills.
“He played a great game defensively,” coach Tim Linehan said. “Harish Patel had a huge game in the middle, posting seven kills and five bocks.”
Also making big plays at the net were Joey Conley (seven kills, two aces) and Greg Philip (three kills, three blocks).
Running the offense was setter Ronak Shah, who had 24 assists, three kills and one ace.
For the Ghosts, Cole Santora had eight kills and two blocks. TJ Dougherty led the defense with 20 digs and three assists. Daniel Gonzalez had seven kills, eight digs and three aces. Setter Ronnie Fishbein had 17 assists, nine digs and two blocks, and Gary Massey had four kills and one bock.

PENNSBURY 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-15)
The Falcons received contributions up and down their lineup in Monday’s sweep of the Panthers.
Sean Sweeney led the Falcons at the net with 13 kills (.500 hitting percentage), one ace and five digs. Danny Quay had five kills and a .714 hitting percentage. He also had three blocks. Louie Bavas contributed eight kills, 12 digs and one block. Setter Andy Delworth had 33 assists, three digs and one block. Charlie Bluestein had 17 digs and one assist. Also contributing were Justin Sadley (four kills, one dig), Brett Garretson (one kill, one ace, four digs), Kyle Faulcon (two kills, .333, one dig), Marshall Nixon (three kills, .500, one block) and Adam Hludzinski (one kill, one ace).

NORTH PENN 3, CHRISTOPHER DOCK 1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21)
Bobby Dean (15 kills, five digs, two blocks), Hayden Rhodes (10 kills, five digs) and Alex Stoler (eight kills, five digs) had big games at the net for the Knights. Setter Ryan Ko had 26 assists, 11 digs, two blocks an one ace. Manan Patel anchored the defense with 22 digs and one ace. Kishan Davara had four kills, three blocks and one dig.
