SOL National Conference
NESHAMINY 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-13)
The Redskins received contributions up and down their lineup in Tuesday’s sweep of the visiting Indians.
John Nice (11 kills, 1 ace, 2 digs, 1 block, 1 assist) and Beknazar Balyshbekov (11 kills, 11 digs) led the Redskins at the net. Setter El-Mansur Sagalive handed out 30 assists and also had four kills and one dig. Aiden Hastings contributed six kills, three aces and one block, and Brandon Sloskey had five kills, one ace, three digs and one block. Toby Kovaschetz was a catalyst on defense with 11 digs and two assists. Also contributing were Liam Smith (2 aces, 1 kill, 1 dig), Jake Giuliana (1 ace, 1 assist), Chase Nuttal (1 block) and Ruhan Jaikaria (2 digs) also contributed.
Neshaminy (8-5, 6-4 SOL) will be on the road at William Tennent on Thursday, and Council Rock North (5-7, 4-5) will be on the road at Cheltenham on Thursady.
BENSALEM 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
Bensalem defeated CR South for its 13th win in a row.
Veer Patel (25 assists) ran the offense well, distributing to a balanced attack. Yosuf Khan (6 kills), Jahaan Patel (6 kills), Dev Patel (5 kills) and Parth Patel (5 kills) all made plays at the net for the Owls. Jeremy Stride (4 kills 3 blocks) had a nice performance for the Owls, who improved to 13-1 overall (9-1 SOL).
Bensalem (13-1, 9-1 SOL hosts Pennsbury on Thursday, and Council Rock South (0-11, 0-10) will be on the road at Abington on Thursday at 6 p.m.
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, ABINGTON 0
The Panthers earned a sweep of the visiting Ghosts Tuesday.
For the Ghosts, Zach Miller had 13 kills on 39 attempts from the outside and contributed defensively with 11 digs. Rounding out the offense for the Ghosts were Danyel Mayo (3 kills), Keyshawn Pinkney (3 kills) and Jack Scharnikow (6 kills). Brendan Dougherty had 22 assists and 11 digs on defense.
William Tennent (7-4, 7-3 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Thursday, and Abington (4-10, 3-8) will host Council Rock South on Thursday.
SOL American Conference
QUAKERTOWN 3, NORTH PENN 2 (27-25, 25-20, 12-25, 24-26, 15-9)
The Panthers notched their first win of the conference season, but it wasn’t easy. They won the first two sets of the grueling five-set match but dropped the next two before winning the fifth and deciding set.
Owen Reinford led the Panthers, contributing eight kills, 17 digs, one block and one ace. Owen Latt (4 kills, 4 blocks, 2 aces, 18 digs), Alex Alfaro-Diaz (4 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, 5 digs) and Rhauan Ferreira (5 kills, 14 digs) also made major contributions. Tyler Moyer (4 kills, 3 blocks, 10 assists, 15 digs) and Rhenan Ferreira (2 kills, 1 block, 12 assists) shared setting duties. Anthony Clark added one kill and seven digs.
Quakertown (2-11, 1-9 SOL) will travel to Upper Dublin on Thursday for a 5 p.m. match, and North Penn (3-8, 2-8) will be on the road at Central Bucks West on Thursday.
PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-22, 25-22, 27-25)
The Rams kept their record perfect in conference play, winning their 10th match of the season with a sweep of the visiting Titans.
Setter Evan Jalosinski had 32 assists and two blocks. Thomas McKinney was extremely effective at the net, finishing with 13 kills and a dazzling .706 hitting percentage. He also had five digs, three aces and two blocks. Logan Jalosinski had 12 kills (.348), four digs and two aces while Aaron Ladd had five kills (.500) and two blocks. Jude Rotondo added eight kills while Bryce Ammon had two kills, seven assists and two blocks. Chris Cullen had three kills, Ty Porter had seven digs and Tyler Smith finished with four digs and two blocks.
For the Titans, outside hitter Ben Grove had another strong match with 10 kills, six digs, two aces and some hard work on the defensive side of the match. Josh Conley added 15 assists and four digs.
“The story for South tonight was the trio of sophomores making a strong contribution with blocks, digs and kills,” South coach Dave Schlosser said. “Gavin Roth, Jake Sciscio and Jon Infantino let their presence be known and gave South some hope for the future of the program.
"The coaching staff and I are very proud of the team’s progress and the solid showing against a very well-coached opponent.”
Pennridge (10-0, 10-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (5-6, 5-5) will host Souderton on Thursday.
SOUDERTON 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-20)
Nate Brown was a force at the net in Souderton’s sweep of the visiting Bucks, contributing 19 kills to go along with seven digs and three aces. Ian Nice contributed a double-double, finishing with 10 kills, 14 digs and three aces. Derek Gilmore had four kills, four blocks and two aces. Setter Levi Leatherman had 37 assists, two blocks and two aces. Alec Kreiser led the defense with 13 digs.
For the Bucks, Oliver Hu had seven kills and Dean Nguyen had five. Hayden Morocco contributed three blocks, and Caleb Woodring had six digs. Setter Liam Boyle had 16 assists.
Souderton (7-6, 6-4 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (5-9, 3-7) will host North Penn on Thursday.
