COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, ABINGTON 0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-20)
The Golden Hawks were led by Tyler Hondros (12 kills, two aces, three blocks, two aces) and Ricky Johnston (eight kills, three blocks) in Tuesday’ sweep of the Ghosts.
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, NESHAMINY 1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-22, 25-23)
Jake Milnazik led the Panthers with 11 kills and two blocks. Will Towle added six kills, and Brendan Carter had three kills, two aces and three blocks.
Monday, April 25
NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1 (25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 25-14)
Steven Landes had a big night for North Penn, finishing with six aces, 10 kills and 18 digs, and Bobby Dean had 14 kills and six digs. Setter Ryan Ko had 33 assists and five digs. Harsh Boghara had four blocks and seven kills. Manan Patel led the defense with 11 digs.
Setter Mark Macios (one kill, one block, four digs, 21 assists) and middle Justin Koren (10 kills, seven blocks, 13 digs, three assists) led the Titans.
“We’re also beginning to see more contributions from the first-year guys,” coach Mark Ehlers said.
Sophomore Tim White had four kills and three digs, sophomore Joe Karn had an ace, three kills, two blocks and two digs, and freshman Mason Zeo had two aces, five kills and nine digs.
“I really like how we’ve been pushing our matches into a fourth game lately and showing that we are going to keep working through the whole match,” Ehlers said.
PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-19)
Ben Chinnici (14 kills, four blocks) and Cross Edwards (10 kills, 12 digs, two blocks) led the Rams at the net. Setter Jesse Smith had 31 assists to go along with four kills and five aces. Aaron Nelson and Kevin Jones each had three kills and three blocks. Josiah Friesen had five kills, and Ryan Spangler had two kills. Austin Rush and Jeremy Baum both had 10 digs.
For the Patriots, Chris Woolslayer had six kills while Carter Haban and Eric Chmiel each had five. Setter Mason Miller had 17 assists. Kyle Schmauk had four digs.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-21)
Sam Hess (seven kills) and Nate Klaus (five kills) led the Indians at the net. Derek DiCesare had eight digs.
“We knew this would be a tough match to win at CB West,” Souderton coach Dave Stastny said. “West outplayed us – give them credit.”
PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0
The Falcons received a balanced effort at the net from Sean Sweeney (10 kills, .304, 11 assists, one ace, one block), Kenny Hickman (eight kills, .583, four aces, three digs, three blocks), Mason Reilley (seven kills, .700, one block) and James Greenland (eight kills, two aces, five digs). Setter Kevin Killoran had 22 assists, two kills, two aces, 10 digs and two blocks. Brad Edwards led the defense with 15 digs to go along with one assist and two aces. Louie Bavas had three kills, .500, one dig, two blocks). Charlie Bluestein (three digs) and Justin Sadley (two kills, .667) also chipped in.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, CHELTENHAM 1 (25-15, 25-18, 23-25, 28-26)
Evan Madden (14 kills, 17 digs, two aces) and Calvin Chan (12 kills, 15 digs) both contributed impressive double-doubles to lead the Flying Cardinals. Andy Katz added nine kills, seven digs and one ace. Albert Sungenis had six kills, six digs and one ace, and Aaron Glatter added three kills, five blocks, one assist and two digs. Jose Palomeque (27 assists, three aces, 15 digs) and Troy Gomer (23 assists, nine digs, one ace) shared setting duties. Also contributing were Joe Choi (three aces, one kill, two assists, 16 digs) and Matthew Ross (two aces, six kills, five digs).
