SOL Boys' Volleyball Wrap (4-26-17 & 4-27-18)

UPPER DUBLIN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-19)
Mario Petushi (10 kills, 14 digs, three aces, two blocks, one assist) and Matt Ross (23 kills, three aces, five digs) had big games at the net for the Flying Cardinals. Longan Loi had 17 assists and one block, and David O’Brien added nine assists, one ace and five digs. Max Adams had seven digs and one ace, and Joey Levin had five digs and one assist. Grant Molloy had three blocks while Blake Bayles (one ace, four kills, three blocks) and Alec Madden (two kills, two digs) also contributed.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-5, 25-18, 25-9)
The Bucks rolled to a sweep of the Panthers. Setter Adam Klapper handed out 20 assists to go along with four kills. Cole Nagle (six kills, four aces, four digs) and Eli Gibson (six kills) led a balanced attack. Sean Billemeyer had three aces. Austin Cervasio had four kills, and Louis Weimer added three kills and seven assists.

SOUDERTON 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-23)
The Indians earned a sweep in Friday’s match against their neighboring rival.
“We came in with a good attitude and played hard, and we were able to win the match,” coach Dave Stastny said. “Both teams played well throughout the match.”
Ben Campman led the Indians with 20 kills followed by Brett Cornman with seven kills. Setter Luke Pagan had 34 assists. Aidan Wunderly led the defense with eight digs.

PENNSBURY 3, ABINGTON 0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-21)
The Falcons received big performances from numerous players in their sweep of the Ghosts.
Kyle Faulcon had 10 kills with a .529 hitting percentage to go along with four digs and three blocks. Luke Bucksar had nine kills (.471), two aces, three digs and two blocks, and Danny Quay added six kills (.444) and three blocks. Justin Sadley also had 10 kills (.300), four digs and one block. Setter Andy Delworth had 33 assists, two aces, two digs and one block. Charlie Bluestein had eight digs and two aces. Brett Garretson contributed four kills, one ace and three digs, and Ryan Collins had one kill.

NESHAMINY 3, AVON GROVE 0 (25-18, 25-12, 25-19)
The Redskins, according to coach Pat Klingerman, used an all-around team effort to earn a sweep of the Devils in a non-league match.
Setter JD Palmieri had 28 assists and also led the team’s service game with eight aces. He also had five digs. Alex Swiderski’s 12 digs led the defense. Contributing at the net were Tony Camillo (eight kills, three blocks), Steven Wenderlich (seven kills, five digs, one ace), Jesse Marshall (two blocks, three kills), Ben McGonagle (five kills, three digs, one block), Matt Schwab (four kills, six digs), Bert Shen (two kills, three digs) and Colin Smith (two kills, one ace, two digs).

Thursday, April 26
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2 (25-14, 25-12, 26-22)
The Indians continued their run through the SOL National with a sweep of their sister school.
Setter Nick Baniewicz had 24 assists to go along with two digs. Harry Wyatt (eight kills, four aces, one dig), Jack Gunshenan (five kills, 2.5 blocks), Will Hewitt (four kills, one assist), Keven D’Arcy (four kills, three digs, .5 blocks), Justin Burns (three kills, two assists, two blocks, one ace), Justin Walton (two kills) and Herby Boucard (two blocks) all contributed at the net. Chase McCaulley and Nick Ripans each had one dig.
For the Golden Hawks, TJ Rodman led the defense with 16 digs. Dane Paulson added 12 digs, three kills and two blocks. Andrew Richards had six kills, one block and six digs, and Shane Slivinski added five kills, two blocks and six digs. Dylan Baptiste had three kills, and Jay Ferrara had two kills and three digs.
Council Rock North will participate in the State College Invitational on Saturday.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, PENNRIDGE 2 (15-25, 25-20, 25-21, 19-25, 15-8)
The Patriots edged the Rams in a hard fought five-set match.
The Patriots’ attack was led by Carter Haban (20 kills, seven digs, three blocks) and Dylan Colbert (13 kills, 20 digs). Steve Storm tallied 38 assists, 13 digs and three kills. Christian Wolf accounted for four kills, three blocks and three digs, and Thomas Gallagher-Teske added two blocks, one dig and three kills. Andrew Bennett, according to coach Rob Minschwiner, had a terrific night all around, managing 15 digs, four kills, and two blocks.
“Jacob LaBouliere played brilliant defensively, digging 17 balls with a 2.4 passer rating,” the Patriots’ coach said.
For the Rams, Cross Edwards (18 kills, seven digs) and Zach Detweiler (13 kills, two blocks) led the attack. Kevin Jones added five kills and five blocks, and Mike Molettiere had four. Ethan Lionetti had three kills and six digs. Danny Rutter led the defense with 16 digs and two aces, and setter Corey Quaste had 42 assists, two aces and three blocks.
