BENSALEM 3, PALUMBO 1
The Owls made it five wins in a row with Friday’s non-league victory. It was their sixth win in the last seven games.
Ethan Fan had an excellent match with 18 kills and, according to coach Tim Linehan, had a huge dig to seal the win. Basheer Ghafary (40 assists) distributed the ball to Shiv Patel (12 kills, one block) and Paul Leible (10 kills, one block).
Bensalem improved to 9-7 overall (6-5 SOL).
QUAKERTOWN 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-14)
The Panthers rolled to a sweep of the Crusaders in a non-league match. Justin Flor (two aces, four blocks, seven digs) and Cameron Cronk (one ace, two digs) both had eight kills to lead the Panthers. Zach Frei added five kills, five aces, six digs and 16 assists. Setter Ty Fosbenner had 16 assists, four kills, one ace and thee digs. Also contributing to the win were Nathan Barkholz (three kills, three aces, four blocks, seven digs), Ryan DiCandilo (three kills, one ace, one block), Tyler Einolf (three blocks), Jared Leatherman (one ace, three digs), Connor Williams (one kill) and Seth Wesley (one dig).
UNIONVILLE 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1 (22-25, 25-23, 25-11, 25-22)
The Golden Hawks won the first set only to watch the Indians win the next three.
Setter Michael Gribman had 38 assists, three digs and one kill. Outside hitter Andrew Richards had a huge night with 24 kills and a .476 hitting percentage. He also had seven digs and one block. Shevy Fernando had eight kills and six digs. Middle hitters Gerry Tasker (one kill, one block) and Jatin Singh (six kills, two blocks) also contributed. “JD” Freed had one ace and four digs, and Alec Rovner added two digs.
