CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-21)
The Bucks had just too many weapons with three of their players contributing double-digit kills in Wednesday’s sweep of the Knights. Daniel Klapper had a team-high 14 kills to go along with five digs. Ryan Alu and Will Varner both added 12 kills. Alu also had nine digs and two aces, and Varner had 11 digs. Setter Matt Douple had 49 assists and six digs, and defensive libero Ben Winderman had 25 digs. Zach Paley added five kills.
For the Knights, Steven Landes had a big match, finishing with a game-high 18 kills to go along with three aces. Harsh Boghara added 11 kills and four blocks. Setter Ryan Ko had 32 assists, one ace and one block. Manan Patel led the defense with eight digs.
PENNRIDGE 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-16)
Pennridge setter Jesse Smith dished out 24 assists and also had six digs and two blocks. Ben Chinnici notched an impressive double-double with 12 kills and 12 service aces. Kevin Jones added eight kills and three bocks. Also contributing were Zach Detweiler (four kills, four blocks), Cross Edwards (four kills, seven digs, two aces) and Josiah Friesen (five kills, four blocks). Austin Rush had 14 digs.
For the Panthers, Mike Dierolf led the way with 10 kills, four digs and one ace. Logan Spieker (six kills, three digs, two blocks), Zach Dierolf (four kills), Graham Wilson (three kills, one block) and Chris Cowan (two blocks) also contributed at the net. Setter Drew Stout recorded 17 assists. Zac Mahler’s 16-dig effort led the defense while Josh Moyer added three digs.
Pennridge (11-2, 11-1 SOL) will host perennial state power Hempfield in a non-league match on Friday night.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, ABINGTON 0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-14)
Wednesday's sweep of the Ghosts was a team effort for the Flying Cardinals. Leading the way were Evan Madden (nine kils, two aces, five digs) and Calvin Chan (seven kills, two aces, six digs). Jose Palomeque (11 assists, eight digs) and Troy Gomer (12 assists, seven digs) shared setting duties. Joe Choi led the defense with 12 digs to go along with three assists. Also contributing were Albert Sungenis (five kills, two blocks, one assist), Aaron Glatter (two kills, two blocks), Andy Katz (one kill, one block, three digs) and Matthew Ross (one ace, two kills, one block).
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CHELTENHAM 0
The Patriots were led by Dylan Colbert with four kills, two digs, two blocks and an ace. Carter Haban also added four kills, and Andrew Bennett had three kills. Colton Wurz contributed a kill, a block and an ace. Mason Miller and his 28 assists directed the Patriots’ balanced attack in Wednesday’s sweep of the Panthers.
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 1 (25-12, 24-26, 25-13, 25-23)
In Wednesday’s non-league win, Jason Yakimiv had a big match for the Indians, finishing with 14 kills, 15 digs, 3.5 blocks and two aces. Eric Van Thuyne added 10 kills, five digs, three aces and one block. Setter Logan Fuglestad had 37 assists, nine digs, four kills, two aces and one block.
Also contributing for the Indians were Harry Wyatt (four kills, two digs, one block, one ace), Sean Helmlinger (four kills, one block), Alex Saraceno (eight digs, one ace), Aaron Knotts (seven digs), Robby Ward (10 digs, two aces, one kill) and Tommy Angelina (one kill, one dig).
Council Rock North (10-1, 7-1 SOL) will take on Neshaminy on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
