PENNSBURY 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2 (20-25, 26-28, 25-18, 30-28, 15-11)
In another classic battle between the National Conference’s elite squads, the Falcons edged the defending champion Indians, rallying from a 2-0 hole to earn the important win. The win avenged an early season 3-1 loss at the hands of Rock North.
Chris Spano had a big night at the net for the Falcons, contributing 17 kills to go along with one dig and two blocks. Dalton Zimmerman added four kills, seven blocks, six digs and one ace while Sean Kropp had nine kills, 13 digs and one block. Pat Merrik added seven kills, two aces, 10 digs and four blocks. Troy Pereira had 11 digs, and setter Jeff Yasalonis had 30 assists, eight digs and two blocks.
The Falcons own sole possession of the conference’s top spot with a 9-1 record (10-1 overall) while the Indians are 8-2.
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST, 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-15)
Nick Bennet led the Patriots with 12 kills to go along with five blocks and five digs. Kyle Dolf had seven kills, five aces, 12 assists and seven digs while Mike Donovan had nine assists, three kills, two aces and two digs. Colby Tallia had seven digs.
The Patriots improved to 7-6 while the Titans fell to 0-12 in league play (0-14 overall).
PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 1 (25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17)
The Indians hung tough but couldn’t upend the Continental Conference’s top squad. Erik Moyer had a big night for the Rams, contributing 19 kills and five blocks. Kalin Nelson added 10 kills and eight digs while Derek Rush had nine kills and 11 digs. Also making important contributions were Ryan Chinnici (six kills, four blocks), Mike Bollinger (five kills, seven blocks), Christian Lizana (12 digs, four aces) and Austin McVaugh (45 assists).
The Indians were led the by the big performances at the net of Chris Kluka (15 kills, three blocks) and Andrew Diesel (12 kills, five blocks). Ryan Davison added eight kills and five blocks, and Tim Jones had seven kills and four digs. Setter Gabe Clemmer had 41 assists to go along with six digs and three blocks. Defensively, the Indians were led by Greg Maza with 10 digs.
While the Rams improved to 13-0, the Indians fell to 9-3 in league play (10-4 overeall).
ABINGTON 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1
The Ghosts celebrated Senior Night with the big win. The Ghosts are 2-8 in league play (4-8 overall), and the Golden Hawks are 0-8 in the league (2-8 overall).
NESHAMINY 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-14)
