NESHAMINY 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (25-13-25-13, 25-20)

The list of contributors was a lengthy one for the Redskins in Friday’s sweep of the Golden Hawks.

“We had contributions up and down the entire lineup,” Neshaminy coach Pat Klingerman said. “It was great getting the younger guys some experience.”

Contributing to the win were Josh Adler (1 kill, 5 aces, 4 digs, 2 blocks), Aaron Benjamin (16 assists, 2 aces, 6 digs, 2 blocks), Dan Berzin (3 kills, 2 digs), Ben Clendening (3 kills), Josh Clendening (1 dig, 1 block), Ryan Dott (1 ace, 1 dig), Kieran Edwards (2 kills, 3 blocks), Stephen Fario (1 assist, 1 ace, 3 digs), Josh Hamilton (2 digs), William Miller (1 ace, 4 digs), John Nice (2 kills, 1 dig), Peter Nowak (1 kil, 1 assist), Joe Ong (1 dig), Brandon Sloskey (2 kills), Michael Sooby (5 aces, 4 digs) and Colin Smith (6 kills, 1 ace, 3 digs).

 

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, BENSALEM 2 (11-25, 25-21, 25-17, 23-25, 15-13)

It took five grueling sets to determine a winner in this one, and it was the visiting Panthers who – after dropping the first set won three of the next four – eking out the win.

Jack Steilen and Mike Carr both had huge games at the net with Steilen contributing 20 kills and six blocks while Carr had 21 kills and three blocks. Jay Layer added 10 kills and 11 digs, and Mike Catelli had two blocks and one kill. Ben Weir contributed four service aces and 17 digs. Cody Keeny had 18 digs. Setter Paul Nedeoglo had 44 assists and also added three kills, eight digs.

For the Owls, Tyler Hoang led the way with 12 kills and six digs. Luis Rodriguez, according to coach Tim Linehan, had his best game of the year with 10 kills and two blocks. Om Patel had eight kills, and sophomore Jack Wineburg stepped up with six kills for the Owls. Zac Czarnecki came up big with three aces, and Dhruv Patel had 33 assists and two aces. The defense was led by Harsh Shah, who had 16 digs and three assists.
