CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, NESHAMINY 1 (22-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-21)
After dropping the first set, the Patriots kept their composure and managed a tough 3-1 win at Neshaminy. Liam Creeden anchored a solid East defense with a consistent passer rating of 2.2. Offensively, Mason Miller spread the attack evenly, as Carter Haban managed 16 kills, Dylan Colbert adding 14 kills, and Andrew Bennett and Christian Wolf contributing nine and five kills respectively. Haban added eight aces from the service line. East's solid defensive effort was initiated at the net, with Jared McKean getting seven blocks, Christian Wolf seven blocks, and Mason Miller adding four blocks. Miller finished with 55 assists.
Redskins coach Pat Klingerman tipped his hat to the Patriots.
“CB East has a lot of good players and is a very well-coached team,” the Neshaminy coach said. “They were the better team today.”
Shaun Kelly (12 kills, three blocks, five digs) and Tommy Edwards (18 kills, two blocks, four digs, one ace) had big games at the net for the Redskins. Anthony Verrecchio (seven kills, four blocks), Ben McGonagle (four kills, two blocks) and Tim Stressman (two kills, five blocks) also made important contributions at the net. Setter Miguel Montalvo had 38 assists, one kill and one ace. Steve Wenderlich led the defense with 16 digs to go with one kill. Steve Reich added five digs. Alberto Shen and Eric Rotteveel each had one kill.
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, ABINGTON 1 (16-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-17)
The Golden Hawks dropped the first set but reeled off wins in the next three to earn the win. They displayed a balanced effort at the net that was led by Jack Geiger (eight kills, two blocks), Shane Silvinski (eight kills, six digs), Andrew Richards (six kills, seven digs) and Dane Paulson (four kills, two blocks). TJ Rodman led the defense with 12 digs and one ace.
For the Ghosts, Cole Santora led the attack with 15 kills while TJ Dougherty anchored the defense with 17 digs. Setter Daniel Gonzalez had 32 assists, seven digs and one block. Shane Collins added six kills and one block, and Ronnie Fishbein had five kills and four digs.
NORTH PENN 3, UPPER DUBLIN 1
In their sweep of the Cardinals, the Knights were led at the net by Alex Stoler with 14 kills and three blocks and Bobby Dean with nine kills. Stoler (10 digs) and Dean (12 digs) also contributed defensively. Setter Hayden Rhodes had 16 assists to go along with 10 digs, six kills and two blocks in a solid all-around performance. Manan Patel led the Knights defensively with 15 digs.
