Non-league

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0

The Patriots earned a sweep of the Golden Hawks in Monday’s non-league match.

Directing the East attack was Ryan Coxey with 10 assists, four aces and four blocks. Matt LaBouliere contributed seven assists, seven kills and nine digs while hitting .571. Josh Lyzinski had a big night at the net, contributing eight kills and four blocks and hitting .875.

Also contributing for the Patriots were Steve DiRugeris (4 digs), Pat Haurin (2 kills, 1 dig), AJ Helveston (3 kills, 1 ace, 4 digs), Reid Miller (1 kill, 6 aces and a passer rating of 2.67), and Rhys Marshall (1 kill, 1 ace).

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, UPPER DUBLIN 2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-13)

The Indians rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn the win in a grueling five-set non-league match.

“Upper Dublin is a well-coached team and came to play,” Rock North coach James Koodathil said. “They clicked on various level, making it difficult for us to make anything happen.

“To the boys’ credit, they turned it on at the service line as well as with net play.”

Brady Klein (14 kills, 3 blocks, 2 digs) and Luke Sill (12 kills, 4 blocks, 1 aces) led the Indians at the net. Nick Alleborn added eight kills and seven blocks in a strong showing at the net, and Anthony DePalo had six kills, four blocks and one assist. Dylan VanSchaick had 39 assists to go along with two aces and two blocks. Nick Cirincione led the Indians’ defense with 20 digs and also had one ace. Will Scott had three kills, one blocks and five digs.

For the Cardinals, Benjamin Dorsey (18 kills, 14 digs, 2 assists) David Levin (12 kills, 4 aces, 25 assists, 22 digs) and Landon Kullmann (11 kills, 4 aces, 1 assist, 8 digs, 1 block) all had big games, making contributions all over the court. Leading the defense was Dominick Plaku with 26 digs to go along with seven assists. Cole Brown added 11 assists, eight digs and one ace, and Terrell Turner had five kills, two aces and one block.

“UD loses a tough match against CR North,” UD coach Paul Choi said. “North did a great job making adjustments.”

 

ABINGTON 3, LA SALLE 2 (25-17, 22-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-13)

The Ghosts won a marathon non-league match over the Explorers.

Zach Miller led the Ghosts at the net with 14 kills to go along with one dig and two blocks. Myles Winegrad added eight kills, one assist, two aces, six digs and three blocks. Setter Colin Mulvihill had 31 assists and also had four kills and one dig. Jake Kosik led the defense with 12 digs. Ben Holler had five kills, one assist, one ace and five digs while Xavier Voit also had five kills to go along with two aces and two blocks.

Also contributing for the Ghosts were Michael Lyou (2 kills, 1 block) Dominic DaSilva (1 block), Shaun Bustin (2 digs) and Pat McBride (2 digs).

 

BENSALEM 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 0

The Owls notched a sweep in a non-league match Monday.  

Ricky Patel (15 assists 2 aces) and Ohm Patel (10 assists 3 aces) ran the offense for Bensalem.  Rohan Patel (5 aces) and Arjun Patel (3 aces) served well for the Owls.  Shiv Parekh (9 kills 5 aces), Jeremy Rodriguez (7 kills), Jack Wineburg (6 kills) and Bruce Bell (4 kills) led the attack for the Owls who improve to 2-2 and face Cheltenham Tuesday at home.

 

SOUTHERN LEHIGH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-21)

The Titans fell in three sets to Southern Lehigh in a non-league contest. 

Josh Conley led the offense with eight kills, he also led the team in assists and added five digs.  Will Tantum led the defense again with 10 digs and had two assists.  Sam Stolber led the serving with six points, including three aces and added five digs.  Evan LaHoda stepped in defensively and had three points on serve, five digs and an assist.
