SOL American Conference
PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0 (25-21, 25-19, 26-24)
The Patriots put up a tough fight, but the Rams prevailed, notching the sweep.
Setter Evan Jalosinski handed out 24 assists and also had two kills and five digs. Jude Rotonodo led the Rams’ attack with 12 kills, and Bryce Ammon added nine kills and five digs. Chris Cullen had six kills, and Logan Jalosinski contributed five kills, seven digs and six aces with a strong service game.
Also, for the Rams, Brady Fish had two blocks, Tyler Smith added two aces and four digs, Pharaoh Dale had six digs, and Ethan Vo, four digs.
For the Patriots, Reid Miller’s nine kills led the way at the net. He also had one ace and four digs. Setter Ryan Coxey had 11 assists as well as two aces and two digs. AJ Helveston contributed three kills, two assists, one ace and four digs, and Evan Blank had two kills, one ace, seven digs and one block. Tommy LeFever had two blocks and Caleb Lyzinski had one. Kyle Korr led the defense with 11 digs to go along with one ace.
Pennridge (4-0 SOL) will travel to Dock Mennonite Academy for a non-league match Friday, and Central Bucks East (3-3, 2-2) will be on the road at Northeastern High School Saturday for the Bobcat Invitational.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, QUAKERTOWN 1
The Flying Cardinals used a balanced team effort to defeat the visiting Panthers.
Cory Pendleton led the way with 11 kills, five digs and one ace, and Gabe Copley had 10 kills, one dig and one block while Zakary Brown added eight kills, eight digs, one ace, one assist and one block. Dominick Plaku led the defense with 21 digs and also had one ace. Setter Scott Barenbaum dished out 31 assists and had eight digs and three aces.
Also contributing for the Cardinals were Seamus Frayne (4 kills, 2 digs), Ryan Stokes (3 kills) and Potter Rudl (3 kills, 2 blocks).
For the Panthers, Owen Reinford (9 kills, 1 block, 7 digs) and Owen Williams (8 kills, 23 digs) turned in big performances. Setter Tyler Moyer had 15 assists, 11 digs, two blocks and two kills. Sean Gillin added eight assists and six digs. Quinn Costanzo also had a big game on defense with 17 digs. Alex Alfaro-Diaz (4 kills, 1 block, 4 digs), James Conner (1 ace, 2 blocks, 4 digs), Jack Harris (1 block, 4 digs) and Rhenan Ferreira (1 kill, 1 dig) also contributed.
Upper Dublin (5-1, 4-1 SOL) will host Wissahickon on Friday, and Quakertown (1-4, 0-4) will travel to Wissahickon on Monday.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, NORTH PENN 1 (25-15, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23)
The Bucks upped their league record to 5-0 with a win over the visiting Knights.
Dean Nguyen’s 11 kills and 10 digs led the way. Cooper Tyksinski added seven kills and three blocks. Logan McHenry finished with eight kills. Setter Liam Boyle had 26 assists and six digs. Caleb Woodring led the defense with 15 digs.
Central Bucks West (6-1, 5-0 SOL) will travel to Pennridge on Tuesday for a conference showdown. North Penn (1-6, 1-5) will be on the road at Central Bucks South on Monday.
SOL National Conference
PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0
In a battle of unbeaten squads, it was the Falcons earning a sweep of the visiting Owls.
The Owls were led by Dev Patel’s 11 kills two aces and two blocks. Jahaan Patel had nine kills, Roman Walsh had five kills and Veer Patel had 29 assists.
Pennsbury (6-0, 4-0 SOL) will travel to Northeastern High School Saturday to participate in the Bobcat Invitational. Bensalem (6-1, 3-1) will host Abington Friday.
ABINGTON 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0
WILLIAM TENNENT 3, NESHAMINY 0
The Panthers notched their fourth win of the young season with a sweep of the visiting Redskins.
David Dziekonski and Sean Stewart were double trouble at the net for the ‘Skins, both finishing with 12 kills. Dziekonski also had two blocks and one ace while Stewart added a team-high 11 digs and one ace. Andrew Shostak contributed five kills and four blocks, and Eric Korchuk contributed three kills, 10 digs and one block. Setter Tristan Ziegler handed out 29 assists and also had one ace. Alex Pyavka had six digs.
William Tennent (4-1, 3-1 SOL) will travel to Northeastern High School Saturday for the Bobcat Invitational, and the Panthers will travel to Pennsbury on Tuesday. Neshaminy (3-2, 1-2) will be on the road at Council Rock South on Monday.
