SOUDERTON 3, DOCK MENNONITE ACADEMY 1 (27-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23)
The Indians defeated their neighboring rivals in a spirited non-league match.
Aidan Wunderly (17 kills, 13 digs) and Jimmy Wertz (15 kills, eight digs) turned in huge performances at the net to lead the Indians. Will Nase added seven kills and 11 digs while Jake Alderfer had five kills.
Setter Luke Pagan had 44 assists, five kills, 14 digs and five aces in a standout all-around effort. Luke Hess had 12 digs and two aces, and Riley Finger added nine digs.
ABINGTON 3, BENSALEM 2 (14-25, 25-21, 27-29, 25-23, 15-11)
The Ghosts won a tough five-set road match against the Owls.
Sean Dougherty led the Ghosts’ defense with 19 digs and two aces while Sam Miller had 10 blocks. Taulant Kurti (20 assists) and Ross Armon (five assists) spread the ball around to five different hitters. Danny Gonzalez had 15 kills, and Kenny Wasekanes had six. Mario Colavita and Jr . Edouard each had three kills while Sam Miller had two kills.
For the Owls, Shiv Patel led the way with 14 kills. Ethan Fan and Paul Leible each had 11 kills. Basheer Ghafary had 40 assists for the Owls, who fell to 3-6
EXETER 3, PENNRIDGE 1 (25-13, 25-19, 19-25, 25-15)
The Rams earned a win in the third set to pull to within 2-1, but that’s as close as they would get in Friday’s non-league match.
Ryan Benscoter had seven kills and three blocks to lead a balanced attack at the net. Ethan Lionetti had six kills while Danny Rutter and Matt McCreary had five each. Chris McKinney had a pair of aces. Setter Austin Jalonsinski handed out 20 assists. Andrew Bergey had seven digs and Tommy Cassel had six.
Pennridge falls to 2-3 overall this season.
